“handy location, decent hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2010

This hotel is a 15 minute walk into the main town of Sitges and has some very handy restaurants just outside it overlooking the marina. It was a little difficult to find to start with but when we got there the staff were very welcoming and room that we had was large and clean. Sitges itself is an interesting place to visit and has plenty of choices for eating and drinking. It is definitely geared to the gay traveller which we hadn't realised and seemed a very fun place for the one night that we were there.

“2 star hotel at best”

We chose this hotel as we wanted a sea view and self catering hotel. We arrived at one pm and our room was available to check in. We booked through Thomsons and paid 640 for a week with 4T so expected fairly good accommodation.
The junior suite we had paid extra for with a sea. Very basic we had twin beds pushed together. One bedside table. Dated bathroom with rusty fittings. Towels thin and threadbare.
The kitchenette is basically a fridge, sink with 2 electric rings. 2 small cups, 2 plates 2 wine glasses. Hardly self catering!
A welcome pack with a few basics would have been helpful.
We walked about 10 minutes into Sitges along a costal path, eventually found a shop to buy milk, bread, coffee etc.
The TV had 3 English channels all news.
That evening the weather was torrential rain with thunder and lightening. We got ready for dinner and decided to eat in the hotel restaurant it was too wet to head out.
The restaurant wasn't open, there was no bar to have a drink in, no nothing!
We headed out to a restaurant 100 yards away, a fish restaurant. The Taverna was ok but overpriced. One starter, sea bass and hake main meals with 2 bottles of water €60.
The hotel felt empty and neglected.
It's only day one but felt compelled to write this review.
Please don't stay here if you want a self catering holiday.
If all you want is a bed for the night and a sea view then this is the place for you.
2 star at best.

“beautiful hotel and area!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2010

stayed for 1 week in sept 2010, booked through hotels.com. We were really impressed with the hotel, the staff were very pleasant and helpful throughout the stay. The room was really clean, no faults at all.

The kitchenette was in particular a lifesaver (eating out can be somewhat pricy), with sufficient pots, pans and cutlery for cooking. Invest in some washing up liquid and servettes and you're sorted! The air conditioning was fantastic, weather was around 30C when we arrived, but the room was pleasantly cool and at night there were no problems sleeping! ive seen reviews commenting on the bed being hard but we completely didnt notice any difference to any other hotels!

The location is a little out of the way alright, with about 20 steps to go down to reach the hotel, which is directly located on the port in sitges. However, provided you are in normal good health, don't let this put you off a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location!

“Spacious, relaxing, beautiful location provided you are reasonably fit”

We stayed 3 nights here a year ago and I'm puzzled by the negative reviews of this hotel. For a start, the location is fantastic, right on the marina, all rooms overlook the sea, you are minutes from a beautiful beach, and just beyond the busy part of Sitges. Rooms are like mini-suites, with bedroom and living room separate, and a tiny kitchen if you want to do a spot of self catering. The room was clean and well equipped, bed was extremely comfortable and the sitting room had a balcony overlooking the sea. Staff were polite and helpful.

The only problem in staying here would be if you don't or can't walk far - going into Sitges centre involves climbing some steps, followed by a 10-minute walk along the beach path (very pleasant, with beautiful views across the sea to the church and old town). So it might not be the best choice for disabled or very elderly guests, or people with small children. Also, if you are disturbed by the sight of naked people sunbathing, be aware that the nearest beach is a nudist beach.

We didn't try the hotel restaurant, or those on the marina, as they are overpriced (although in the daytime there is a cheaper cafe at the eastern end) - but central Sitges is heaving with restaurants and bars.

Our only problem staying here is that they close the gate to the marina (leading to hotel entrance) at around midnight, so you have to walk back the long way round to the other entrance (we got lost at one point). This is not the hotel's fault, but something to do with the marina - I hope they sort this out, because midnight is ridiculously early to close the gate. My advice if you are out on the town until the early hours is to take a taxi back.
Generally I'd recommend this hotel.

“Good, but not as nice as the website would suggest”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2010

Stayed at Port Sitges for a week.
Good location but not central.
The rooms are clean and unremarkable, a little tired. Sparsely furnished, as is the Spanish way. Certainly not quite as presented on the Port Sitges website.
Air-conditioning didn't reduce room temperature below 25 degrees which some might find a little warm, but was fine for us.
Some of the criticisms on here regarding this hotel are based in truth but rather harsh.
Wireless internet signal poor. Not great if you need to stay in touch with your business.
I would go back to this hotel but think there may be better value for money elsewhere.
