we stayed here with a few other couples for a friends wedding. the hotel lobby, pool and breakfast area were lovely. breakfast was nice. the rooms were average but clean. it takes them ages at the bar to serve, especially if you order a sandwich. when we arrived at 3pm we could only get ham and cheese toasted sandwiches at the bar and it took approx 40-50 mins for all of us to get drinks and a sandwich. not many of the staff speak english but from what i gather sitges is a very spanish orriented holiday resort.

I used to visit the Antemare frequently but have not been for five years. The quality and appearance of the rooms was a shock to me. Simple basic things were shabby and not fixed and you would not accept them in your own home let alone pay for them. My check in experience was appalling despite the hotel being almost empty.

Breakfast however was a delight and extremely good quality. After probably 15 stays and loyalty, I will now try elsewhere.

We were 80 Australian's on a 5 week PRIVATE European tour, (average age 55 yrs). We stayed 4 nights, off peak I think. The hotel is certainly NOT a 4 star but a palace compared to the hotel Celuisa North in Madrid which was a disgraceful one star. Actually I think all our hotels we stayed at were overrated.Overall we enjoyed our stay at ANTEMARE in October 2011. Positives:- great location near beach, lovely promenade, nice town, great pool, good food, rooms clean, most staff friendly, price reasonable. Negatives:- NO FREE WIFI,( which cost the hotel a fortune in loss bar taking as we went to a bar down the road and used their free WIFI and spent lots of money on alcohol & food ) the rooms were small, tired, no tea facilities, bar staff were indifferent to CUSTOMER SERVICE ( which I think is a culture problem all over Spain ) No English channels, No porters and hotel is a BIG "rabbit warren" so cases and stairs a problem I think some of these REVIEWS ARE UNFAIR by comparison to the MADRID hotel I mentioned above. Having said all that we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it as a 2 and half star hotel in a great town & location.

Very good location - few metres from beautiful beach and 15 minute stroll into Sitges, which is a lovely vibrant, but not 'touristy' resort and a ½hr train ride into Barcelona. Our room was a good size, probably because it was a triple room. I emailed reception beforehand and asked for a larger room after reading comments about small rooms. However, the first two nights were very noisy. There was a conference in the hotel and the delegates were coming in at 3 and 4 am and banging doors and shouting. We told reception and it was mostly quiet from then.I think this hotel seems to cater more for business than holiday guests. There was never anyone to serve you in the bar - therefore no-one in there. Breakfasts were good but the 'hot' food was always cold. We checked in around 2.00pm and ordered lunch. We all had Spanish omelette and chips. We received a very small slice of omelette and a bowl of crisps for 8.95 euros! The reception staff were very pleasant but the restaurant staff never acknowledged us unless we said 'good morning' or 'buenas dias' first. We enjoyed our little holiday at the Antemare, but we didn't spend much time in there because it didn't have a 'holiday' atmosphere.
