“Love Sitges, Love this Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Visited for the third time in September 2011. Hotel is as good as always. Service really makes it, they cant do enough for you. Also now the gym is cheaper (5 euros) and you can get half price breakfast if you join the MAS reward programmme. The breakfast buffet is immense, well worth it. The pool area is quiet and civilised, perfect to chill before a night in Sitges. Cant wait to go back.

“You realy gotta try this....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

As i have family living in sitges i looked for a good hotel to stay but wanted some peace and quiet as well. Recommended was Melia Sitges. The hotel is an experience itself. Basically everbody that works there is extremely nice, and with some class. Dont forget, its a hotel for business but we've seen casual people and family as well. The breakfast is incredible, tasty and well served. The room was great, airconditioning, great bathroom, you feel like a million bucks and everytime they clean everything for you.... I know it does cost a few $$ but what you get in return is well worth the money. You can choose to use their own parking below. At the back there's the private swimmingpool with many ways of enjoying the sun. From the hotel is a 15 minute walk to sitges boulevard (beach) and 20 minutes to the centre. Shops are nearby.. you gotta do this at least once.

“Good conference hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

I have just spent 4 nights in this hotel from 17th October-21st October, 2011. I spent time here with work, for a conference, and the hotel was superb for this – it seemed to be set up to cope with large conferences perfectly and things ran like clockwork.

Check in was quick, easy, friendly and efficient. I had a room on the 6th floor with a view over the mountains, sea and a small beach below. The room was large and clean with a balcony. There was a large double wardrobe with plenty of storage space, a large double bed, a flat screen tv, a mini-bar and a large ensuite bathroom with bath and shower and toiletries. There was a safe in the wardrobe which was included in the price of the stay. I didn’t hear too much noise from my neighbours and I slept well here. The black-out curtains worked well and the beds were comfortable.

Breakfast was served from 7am – 10.30am and it was served in a lovely modern space. I thought breakfast was excellent here with plenty of choice for both continental and cooked foods as well as a selection of teas, coffee and fruit juices. I ate in the hotel bar 3 times while I was here and felt that the food was reasonably priced and decent quality. The reception area and dining areas were bright and clean and modern. Some of the artwork on the walls is beautiful. Any staff I came across in the hotel were friendly and efficient.

WiFi was not included as part of my stay. However, they allowed me to sign up for a loyalty card scheme and simply by doing this I got free WiFi for the duration of my stay. Otherwise it would have cost me 14 euro/day which is very expensive in this day and age.

Just to mention a few negatives and the reason I gave this place a 3........there were no tea or coffee facilities in the rooms. The water in the mini-bar was charged at an extortionate price. My room was rather dated and smelt a little musty and in need of a refurb to match other areas of the hotel such as bar and dining room. There were no drawers in the room and hence nowhere to put things like electrical goods so they just had to sit out for the duration of my stay. The shower wasn’t fantastic and the bath wasn’t too clean. The channel choice on TV for English viewers was pretty terrible. There was a rather noisy dog close to my room who barked a lot and the local train also ran past my room several times per day and night. On one of the nights of my stay a truly terrible smell seemed to come either from the bathroom or out of the air vents in the ceiling, and engulfed the whole room in the early hours of the morning – it was pretty disgusting. I think if I were picking a hotel for a holiday I probably wouldn’t pick this one. The pool area although nice, was very small and enclosed with no view to the sea. As has been mentioned on here may times before the hotel is a short walk out of town as well.

There is a small marina is located behind the hotel and down a number of steps. I thought this marina area was beautiful. There are a number of nice restaurants and bars and a few small shops down there. There are beaches on either side of the hotel. The sand on the beaches is lovely soft golden stuff and the waters were lovely. A short walk (15 minutes) takes you into Sitges which is a medium sized town with a long palm tree lined prom, long beaches and an abundance of bars and restaurants. There are plenty of traditional Tapas bars and lots of shops to explore in the back streets. I think while I was here, even though the weather was gorgeous, the season was drawing to a close and everything was very relaxed, laid back and the beaches were almost empty. I imagine in the summer time the place must be buzzing.

Just to finish I want to say the conference auditorium was an excellent space with the most comfortable chairs, great AV and lovely staff at the doors. The entire area was clean and bright and ideal for our conference. The tea/coffee breaks and lunches provided by the hotel were also great.

All in all I had a pleasant stay here.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room for the best chance of a nice view

“Overall a relaxing and pleasant weeks stay on holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

We received a nice warm welcome even though it was busy.

We stayed during the Sitges film festival which ensured lots of activity & lovey egos around to watch. Once this finished more business conferences followed but it didnt conflict with our holiday stay so long as they didnt mind us bumming around in shorts and flip flops!!

The bedrooms are fine.....spacious, lots of storage.... getting a bit dated and worn carpets but really didnt detract from our stay. The maid service is excellent never conflicting with our erratic sleep patterns! The bedding was changed reguarly and rooms lovely and tidy - faultless.

The breakfast is excellent and well organised and the staff were very pleasant, attentive and smiley at all times.

There is a free wifi in the lounge if you ask for the code at reception otherwise it is too expensive in your rooms.

The food in the bar was lovely and reasonably priced with satisfactory staff. Drinks were pricey but the pound is so weak at the moment.

Yes the location is a stretch(15-20 min strole) to the town centre but we needed the exercise and it was only just becoming a bit of a chore on the last day. A trip to the port is a must as there is some good restaurants. There is a little nudist beach close by too!!??

A taxi from railway station is 7-8 Euros. There is a big supermarket around the corner, as at reception.

The swimming pool area is small but there are lots of beaches to choose from.

All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay but next time we will probably stay a bit closer in.

“Average hotel, 10 minute walk to town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

The hotel itself seems as if it caters more to the business/professional crowd. It has everything that you need in a hotel but could definately use some updating. The walls are very thin and you can easily hear your neighbors. The restaurant is overpriced. We had the breakfast buffet included in our rate, which was very nice and the food was great. The staff is professional but not overly friendly. The Wifi is not free, nor is the fitness center. If you ask for a 'sea view' you get a nice view of Sitges and the sea but make sure you ask for an upper floor as your view could be blocked by buildings.
It was nice to have a pool, as I'm not sure any other hotels in the area had any.
It was a very convenient walk to the beaches, which were nice, and to the marina area. The marina area is full of great restaurants/bars and is a little quieter than the town itself. If you are looking for a rowdier nightlife, downtown is about a 10 minute walk. It is about a few minute walk to a grocery store. The train station, however, is about 15 minutes walk. Overall, it's an average hotel.
