This was our least favourite hotel we stayed in during our recent trip to Spain. Despite requesting a top floor room away from elevators when booking on line. We were offered a room on the first floor which when we checked in smelt like a changing room with a very strong odour of sweaty trainers! The only alternative room was behind the lift on the same floor. We accepted this room as it did not smell and was much brighter than the previous one. We did have a good sleep and the bed was comfortable. We visited the bar to have a nightcap before retiring and it was empty. When we paid for our drinks we realised why this was the prices were extortianate! We had breakfast in the same bar the next morning which was overpriced for poor quality food. My advice to anyone staying at this hotel is do not pay the additional 9euros per head for breakfast, you can get so much more outside the hotel for your money.

Wanting to experience more than just Madrid and Barcelona, I decided for a 1 day stop in Lleida. A great choice.......what a wonderful town! But the experience was even better because of Hotel Real. Right downtown overlooking the river, this hotel was all I could of hoped for. Nice rooms, great staff, and a super location.

Stayed at The Real whilst fishing at Mequinenza so we would be able to go out in a big town in the evening. Good value clean modern rooms. Right on the spot for the extensive shopping. Most of the best tapas bars & restaurants are above the church which is a 15 min walk but at least it's downhill on the way back!

In light of the mixed reviews received by this hotel, I was somewhat anxious about the condition of the hotel. While it is hardly luxurious, the Hotel Real provides a decent place to stay. My room had a comfortable bed, a large work desk with internet access, a new flat panel television, a modern and ample bathroom with a great shower, and climate control (air conditioning) that worked fine. The adjoining restaurant has a breakfast buffet in the morning that has the usual fare. To the North American taste, the lack of cold milk for the cereal (hot milk was available) was a bit surprising -- but there was juice, cereal, pastries, coffee/tea, toast and the European assortment of cold meats and cheese. Lunch and dinner in the restaurant were reasonably priced (13 euro) and the food ranged from OK to tasty. From what I could see, some of the interior facing rooms were on the small side, but those with an external view were certainly ample. Everything was clean; there were ample toiletries although inexplicably the bath gel was never replaced (I asked for more and got body lotion instead??). The staff at reception was friendly and professional. So, I have no complaints and can recommend this hotel to someone who wants reasonably priced accommodations.
