“nice place to stay”

excellent location at a few steps from the river and the rambla, with a very good parking and a kind staff. the hotel has rather a long story - look at their vintage pics in the lobby - and is being continuously refurbished in such a way to look a bit cool, but quite in a traditional mood which was for us delightful. silent, clean, cozy... perfect!

“Great Hotel Fab Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

Went with 3 other friends from University days (long ago!) We wanted to see and do as much as possible and found this hotel really central. Staff were extremely helpful and we will all stay there again should we return to Girona. We did not actually use the restaurant so cannot comment on it.

Room Tip: all our rooms were good although one of our group was near an elevator and could hear it going up an...

“Great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

Stayed for one night . (Single room 401) was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was gleaming and had a shower over a small bath. The room was not over big and was a bit dark as the window only looked out over another wall, but hey, I wasn't in the room during daylight hours. There was a wardrobe, bedside table and dressing table. A flat screen tv, but only Spanish channels. The staff were helpful and friendly and let me into breakfast early as I had to catch a bus to the airport. The location is perfect, close to the old quarter, the roman wall and the cathedral, plus close to lots of retaurants.

Room Tip: ask for a room on the higher floors, although street didn't seem particularly busy on the night...

“Accomodation and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

An excellent hotel situated centrally and within walking distance of many areas of interest. Excellent accomodation and helpful staff. Fast trains to Barcelona make it possible to make day trips if you don't mind the extra travel. We stayed in a cold and dull February but still enjoyed exploring the city. Would definitly want to stay here again.

“Good location, but thats about all!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

Stayed for a week-end break in August. Great location, reception very nice, but stairs leading to first floor - very shabby with threadbare carpets which let down the nice entrance. Rooms basic, chipped paint and generally shabby. Breakfast poor, restaurant smelt musty, tablecloths had not been wiped, bit off a put off! We just had coffee and went elsewhere for something to eat. We did'nt get a bargain break and so can't even say 'we got what we paid for'.

Tip - Come out the front of hotel, turn right over the bridge, there is a restaurant a hundred yards walk. El Cub!!! Think that was the name of it. Excellent food, so much cheaper than the restaurants in the old Town. Bottle of house wine 8 euros! (It was a really decent bottle of wine). The food and ambience was great.

Girona is well worth a visit, superb architecture. We took a train to Barcelona one day, 30 euros return for both of us.
