Stayed for a week-end break in August. Great location, reception very nice, but stairs leading to first floor - very shabby with threadbare carpets which let down the nice entrance. Rooms basic, chipped paint and generally shabby. Breakfast poor, restaurant smelt musty, tablecloths had not been wiped, bit off a put off! We just had coffee and went elsewhere for something to eat. We did'nt get a bargain break and so can't even say 'we got what we paid for'.
Tip - Come out the front of hotel, turn right over the bridge, there is a restaurant a hundred yards walk. El Cub!!! Think that was the name of it. Excellent food, so much cheaper than the restaurants in the old Town. Bottle of house wine 8 euros! (It was a really decent bottle of wine). The food and ambience was great.
Girona is well worth a visit, superb architecture. We took a train to Barcelona one day, 30 euros return for both of us.
