We stayed in this Hotel because we found a good price on the internet, therefore, if I have booked at a normal rate I would be VERY VERY disapointed.
First of all I don't get how can it be a 4 star hotel when its clearly a medium 3 star hotel.
The room was small, really small, at least it was clean but the towels were old and worn out.
I e-mailed the hotel a couple days before and I made a request on the booking act, which was never answered neither it was fullfield.
There was no internet on the room (yes, it happened in 2012 not 1995), and there was only one channel in english (Disney channel...).
The location was good, yes it was indeed, there are a lot of immigrants in the area but its a peacefull location, even at night.
The heater made a lot of a noise, in ever 15-20m it would make a snap sound, even when it was off, and I could hear my neighbours opening and closings doors, talking and even taking a bath.
The staff was ok, I mean, the female recepcionist was ok, but the the male recepcionist was arrogant and started laughing about something I said witch was very rude.

We stayed here in January and loved every minute of our stay. From the moment we checked in we were given a warm welcome from the staff at the desk.
We had a beautiful room looking out onto the street. It did get a little noisy one night but I expected as much from a busy city.
Breakfast was lovely, large selection of fruit, pastries, cheeses/hams etc. Would suggest getting more hot food however.
Free water/coffee/tea in lounge area was a great bonus as well as the two computers with free internet access.
The decor is very modern and sophisticated , especially the beautiful marble staircase- a big wow factor!!
Also, our room was cleaned every day during our 4 day stay. New towels, bed linen, shampoo etc every day- the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in.
It is also very close to the metro station so you can go anywhere you like.
Will definitely be returning to Onix Liceo, great value for money!!

We stayed here prior to going on a cruise. It was in a fantastic location just off La Rambla and very near to the ornate port building at the bottom of La Rambla where you can get a cheap bus to your cruise ship.

It is a beautiful building which has been restored to its former glory. Some decor is modern contemporary and some traditional.

Our room was a standard room and was spacious with a lovely bathroom and shower. The rooms have great air conditioning (cold and heat).

There is free Internet use in the lounge and also free coffee, fruit and water.

The weather was too cold for us to use it but there was a lovely clean lap pool outside on the terrace.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel for value and location.

I went to Barcelona for business with a colleague. As we had some time over we decided to make our stay pleasant and find a hotel near La Rambla. Hotel Inox Liceo is situated only 200 meters in a narrow side street of La Rambla.
The building looks old, but the inside is completely new and modern. The staff is pleasant and helpful. As we came by rented car, in front of the hotel there is one parking spot where you can park (unless it is not taken) for 30 minutes for unloaded your luggage and checking in. Staff advised us a parking down the road across Palau Guell, were we parked the car 3 days for € 75. Be aware that the parking guy only speaks Spanish.
The first floor of the hotel is very nice, the stairway to the second floor in the middle of the hotel lets you see what grandeur house it was in the past. There is a lounge area in the back with a H2O area with free coffee, tea and water. They also provide there two computers for customer use.
Our room was not large and on the backside of the street and therefore very quite. It looked upon the outdoor terrace with small swimming pool of approx. 12 by 2 meters. The room was clean with comfortable beds. And had a nice bathroom with good shower. A flat screen TV is provided and a minibar. The air conditioning in the rooms is externally controlled. During our stay in December it blowed warm air only. Too warm for me, so I opened a window during the nights.
Breakfast was really disappointing. If you have the time for yourself, go outside for breakfast. You need to take the elevator next to the H2O area to go to the basement. The 2 elevators in the front won’t bring you anywhere.
Be also aware that during late at night La Rambla gets sinister with lots a people from Eastern Europe, who are looking to rip you of your wallet. They are very aggressive in doing so. Although there is lots of police around you. My colleague had this very unpleasant experience. And lots of others with him, as we discovered the next day in the police station.
