“Perfect for young people!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2010

This is NOT a hotel actually but it is a PERFECT accomodation for young travellers or students! Very clean, modern and very good breakfast! There are no cleaning facilities (new towels etc) at your room, as well as there is not a fridge or tv, so that's not for a family or older people but the whole situation is very good. Very close to the metro. Very good in general! I would recommend it to young people between 20-35.

“Clean, spacious but not perfect”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2010

Arrived in December .Easy to get to on the metro from centre of city. Green line 3 and get of at Mundet. Short walk from Metro to Hotel. It's modern and set in a very safe, leafy university campus on a hill overlooking the city. Some people who stay here are students and others are tourists. Tourist get the back room with no view. Superior single room was somewhat disappointing. My television did not work and I gave up with that on first day. Bathroom is nice with modern fittings. WIFI Internet was the worst thing about Agora. Hardly capable of loading images and very slow. Free however. Cleaners arrive at 7:30 and hang around all day chatting and doing things in the corridor. Even someone cleaning and rustling refuse bags on Friday evening at 9pm! Certainly no noise proofing and so everything going on in the corridors you hear in your room. It was noisy at times. Very strange constant eery noise from window in my room as wind hits the frame.
Breakfast excellent and once again you share the dining room with the university students. Security poor as anyone could walking into the building unchecked, however they cannot get into the rooms without a key.
Overall I expected a little more although it's got to be a lot better than some of the rabbit hutch rooms you'll get in the centre of Barcelona.

Dear Sir/Madame,
Thank you so much for posting your thoughts on here, we really value your feedback. Regarding the Internet connection, I inform you we are working straight on this point to improve our service. We are completely aware that it is essential for all our guests. Concerning the other issues you comment on, I would like to clear up that all rooms have views, whether if they are toward the sea or towards the mountain.
Once again thank you very much for taking the time to write your opinion.
Yours faithfully,
Sandra

“Nice Hotel for young travellers”

This hotel is not in the center but you have a metro station near by. It's about 5 minute walk from the metro station to the hotel. It's a safe, quiet, there are green hills and a cute park nearby and a place to play football.

The rooms were clean, pretty modern with no surprises. The breakfast included in the price is actually pretty good. Toasts, yoghurts, cerials and some fruits, as a buffet. There's also a gym for use and two Internet computers in the lobby. In general this place is a student dorm and I'd recommend this stay to young people, as it's full of young and vivid students, there is also a ping-pong and pool table but the hotel was definitely not noisy. Also it has a buffet dinner.

The only thing is that the room was only cleaned every 4 days.

Also during the summer this Hotel organizes trips.

“Excellent value for your money, recommended for young travellers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2010

First of all, how to get there:

1. Take metro line L-3 to Mundet (direction Terra Nova).
2. Leave the platform on the escalator, go through the barriers and turn right.
3. Go up the escalator to the street level, turn right and walk along the road to the first (or second) turn to the left. You'll find the hotel on the hill behind the stadium (velodrome). It's about 5 minute walk from the metro station to the hotel and the uphill is no more that 100m, easy enough to get there even with a big luggage.

The first pleasant surprise was that we got our room upgraded to Superior (Twin) with no reason. Superior room was clean enough, pretty modern with no surprises. At this price you'll get two mattresses on one bed (you can't call it a double bed), a flat TV with three English-speaking channels (BBC News, Bloomberg, CNBC), a small fridge and aircon. The built quality of everything is pretty weak, but it worked for us. Just that we had change our room immediatelly as I couldn't close the sliding door/window to the yard and neighter could staff close it.

The breakfast included in the price is actually pretty good. Toasts, yoghurts, cerials and some fruits, as a buffet. There's also a gym for use and two Internet computers in the lobby. In general this place is a student dorm and I'd recommend this stay to young travellers, as it's full of young and vivid students, but the hotel was definitely not noisy as claimed in some reviews. Never heard any kind of noise at night though. Good value buffet dinner for 9.50€ (20-22).

It takes around 20-30 min. from the city centre to the hotel. We liked the location a lot, as it's close enough to to the metro station, the area felt very safe, quiet, there are green hills and a cute park nearby (The Labyrinth Park). The park is definitely worth a visit and is one of the best ones in Barcelona. Also there's a supermarket (Consum) close to the metro station (go left, may be a bit tricky to find).

The big minus was that our room was "cleaned up" only after a request and the execution was poor - the cleaning lady just changed our towels. No lock in the shower and no hooks for towels.

In overall, I'd say it's an excellent value for your monet and a good stay for young travellers. Highly recommended!

“Awful, awful, awful.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2010

Sounded great idea to use the halls of residence as a cheap place to stay whilst touring Spain but oh my god what a mistake. The halls of residence on a night turned into a night mare, all of the 16 year old residents on summer camp came to life and treated it as a massive sleep over. Teenagers running up and down corridors shouting, screaming, kicking doors, teenage boys fighting, blood in corridors and in lift, fire alarms set off. Summer camp reps not even on site, at local bars in town. One very young man left in charge in reception.
