“still want more?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

we spent three nights at this hotel. and generally i can tell that this is not the worst three star hotel. first - the staff is really friendly, second - the location is perfect, third (and the last) quite reasonable price. Of course, the selection for breakfast is poor(((( together with quality of food. The walls in the rooms are sooooooo thin, that you can hear every breath someone's taking over the wall - and i'm not talking about sex (it is impossible since whole floor can hear the sound of every movement))))))))))))))))))).

Room Tip: take a room with the sea (port) view

“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

I spent a night at this hotel in mid-November. Because I was here during the off-season, the hotel was very quiet, there was plenty of room at breakfast time, checking in and out was a breeze and the rate was very reasonable (under 70 euros).

My room was small but efficient, clean and tastefully done. The bathroom may not have been large but I never felt cramped. As far as noise, I did not hear my neighbors (maybe I had none?). I could hear some street noise although this was not very loud (of course, the sidewalks were not very crowded).

My room did not have a mini-bar but that was not a big deal for me since I can never get myself to pay for the inflated prices (even when a client is paying for my expenses). There are plenty of stores nearby where you can purchase water, drinks and any snacks you might need.

I liked that the room came with a safe large enough to fit my laptop. If you have a 15” laptop, you should have no problems storing it in there.

The staff was very friendly and always ready to help. The lady working the breakfast area was especially chatty, friendly and fun to visit with. There was a couple with a young child having breakfast when I was there and she made sure the child ate well and even sent them off with water and snacks for their day of sightseeing. (By the way, there was plenty to choose from for breakfast.)

The location is excellent with easy access to the beach, marina and a 5-minute walk to MB92 (for those of us that are here for work). Las Ramblas is an easy walk and Plaza Catalunya is not too far, either (I chose to walk to Plaza Catalunya instead of taking the bus or metro).

Bus and subway access are nearby and they will get you to just about anywhere in the city and even to the airport (taxi ride from the airport to the hotel was about 25 euros).

What I did not like:
- Wi-Fi is available for free in the rooms but it was having problems while I was there.
- I would have gladly given up the colored accent lights in the bedroom for better lighting in the shower.

“More apartment than hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

Great location, slick modern look, but a little but style over substance at times. Shower head didnt work properly, and room was quite noisy. I could certainly deal with all that, neither were deal breakers for me - its just when you pay for a hotel there are things you expect, especially when there are so many great hostels in Barcelona.
Next time I'll probably just opt for one of those instead.
Its a nice hotel, and I am not saying you shouldnt go, I'd just warn you, its more Ikea than Heals.

“Great Hotel”

We arrived at the hotel just after 11 am in the pouring rain. The gentleman on reception was very accommodating and we got to our rooms within 20 min (considering that check in was only after 1). The room was neat and the bathroom too. We quickly changed clothes and went down to reception where the receptionist helped us with some travel tips (as it was raining and the end of Merce Festival)
After a long day of sightseeing - got back to the hotel and had a hot shower. The lady on receiption was very helpful when it came to the aircon and explaining about the wifi and offered to come up to our rooms if we were unable to come right.
Over the road from the hotel was an enormous fun fair (which was very noisy - but festive). Went on to the roof terrace and watched the fireworks.
Yes the walls are thin but after a long day of activity and sigh seeing ( we fell asleep rather quickly)
As check out was only at 12 we were able to soak up some sun on the Barceloneta Beach before heading off to the port to meet our cruise ship.
The hotel is ideally situated for sightseeing and to enjoy the beaches

“Nice trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

Nice Hotel in a very nice position, friendly staff, very clean and modern. The only complaint would be the sound proofing in the walls, I could hear the people in the rooms both sides like I was in the room with them.
