Booked Hotel Evenia Rocafort for one night stay before our 12-day Eastern Mediterranean Cruise. We arrived early in the morning of the 22nd of October, 2011, our check in time was at 12 pm. The young gentleman at the front desk was polite, answered all our questions and locked our belongings in a small room beside the elevator. When we arrived he advised us that one of the two elevators was not working properly but would be soon be fixed. True to his word, it was fixed. The hotel bedroom is small accordingly to North American standard. We were told that the hotel was formerly an apartment building and converted into a hotel. The hotel does have all the amenities you need: hot shower (loved the pressure, I could have stayed in there forever), firm bed (if you're not used it, may be hard to adjust to), and a safe (require key - deposit of 20 Euros which will be refunded when you check out). We had two pieces of luggage (large & medium size) - since the room is small we had use our imagination on how put our belongings. We placed the large one on the desk and the medium size beside the closet. The closet hanging space is small; there is couple of shelving units in the closet to hold backpacks. The view from our bedroom was of the backyards of other apartments. We did not partake in their dining room as we walked around the neighbourhood for our meals. There is a nice little place for breakfast: Bella Pan - freshly baked bread and I loved their beef/chicken coquettes. The Hotel is about 20 minute walk from the Ramblas. The hotel is located in a residential area, quiet and clean. There are lots of little nuggets in the neighbourhood - on check out day we went for a little walk and we found a little neighbourhood celebrating artisans - women tatting (making lace). Elena, a young woman at the front desk was excellent, she was quite diligent in moving our luggage where it could not be seen from the street. She cautioned us re: pickpocketers and those that want to separate you and your belongings. Overall, my husband and I would stay at Hotel Evenia Rocafort.
