We stay three nights in the Vincci Arena Hotel whilst on city break to Barcelona.

The bedroom was very nice, clean, tidy and in good order. Beds were two singles pushed together which isn't to our taste but not a big problem.

Breakfast is a buffet style meal and mostly the food is of a good quality and well presented. No idea how to make a good pot of English breakfast tea but that's what you expect in most American or continental hotels.

The hotel is just a few hundred metres from Barcelona's very efficient and inexpensive metro system and it's on the route of the tourist buses as well.

All in all it was perfectly satisfactory if somewhat unexciting. Very little sign of life in the lobby area. I wouldn't pick this hotel for a romantic trip abroad but if you are on business or want to spend your time in the city, then it's good.

Our deal offered free wi-fi but this wasn't available (the mistake of the booking company, not the hotel) and there's a steep charge for wi-fi or you can connect for free in the bedroom using a cable supplied by reception.

There is a spa but we didn't try this.

Would like to start off by saying I enjoyed my stay at the Arena. The hotel itself is decorated in a contemporary design and is very conventionally located close to the Plaza de Espanya (first stop on the airport bus) and metro stations. The front desk staff was wonderful and bent over backwards trying to listen to my attempts at speaking ‘Spanish’ (born and raised in Miami it’s a mixture of dialects).

The floors and hallways are dark and warm (due to lighting arrangement), no ice available unless you walk down to the first floor and pray that someone is willing to walk back into the kitchen and “find” some ice for you. The beds are comfortable if you enjoy firm mattress, if you prefer something softer be ready for a so so night’s sleep! I have heard many Americans complain about the lack of AC while traveling around Europe, THIS WAS NOT THE CASE HERE!!!!! Room temperature was as cold or as warm as you could ever ask for.
My only two truly negative remarks (i.e. concerns that need to be addressed before I return) one WiFi is not free (Someone please explain to the owners that free wiFi is now a more basic requirement as opposed to something paid for), and having someone manage the restaurant. For what they wanted to charge you for breakfast I expected a lot more (I eat lite breakfasts and still left hungry after paying 18Euro each).

All in all my experience was very nice. I guess the restaurant I can do without, but will not be returning till such time as they ‘correct’ the free WiFi issue.

The hotel is located in the city center and close both to attractions and shopping area.
The facilities in the hotel are standard but design is quite unique.
The staff is responsive and English speaking.
Would recommend this not expansive hotel for both business and private stay.

The hotel is in a great location, it's roughly 15 min from the city centre (La Ramblas) by metro and 2 min away from Espanya.
Booked through laterooms.com and with our booking it included breakfast - prices very reasonable.
Rooms very modern, nicely lit. Hotel very clean throughout.
Well worth the money and would return.
Would recommend.
