I have stayed here one night and found the staff, reception, food and price unlievably good. Clean bed great bathroom in Sierra 2k from centre with loads of busses and metro nearby. Great stair ants 1block either way and I mean great good food good price.

First of all, it is very difficult to find this hotel if arriving in Barcelona after dark. We began our hair raising search during evening rush hour but have survived to tell the tale. We saw none of the usual hotel direction signs.
The Angli is situated in a nice, quiet residential area. It is a very modern yuppi-style place with lots of switches with which to create lighting from selective to mood, switches to control the roller blinds, written Instructions on how to and tips on how to open the modern water taps.
The room was big, the shower excellent and the bed comfortable.
There are no door knobs and subsequently there is no place on which to hang room service breakfast menus. We wedged ours between the door panels.
The restaurant serves dinner but there was no menu in the empty menu holder and the restaurant looked woefully empty both nights of our stay.
We had the feeling that we were the only guests around, although this wasn't true.
Would we stay here again? I don't know
Did we feel that it was past its prime? Yes
Does it deserve 4 stars? No
A pity - it could be great !

We had a bit of a frustrating 3 night stay here. The hotel is woefully understaffed. Asking anything of reception is pointless as they don't have a clue. Wifi only works in reception and is a bit piece unsecured network. According to the girl on reception it was our 2 iPhones and laptops that were to blame!

The rooms smell of stale smoke as they are interlinked by the same ventilation system. If you are a non-smoker I strongly advise you don't stay here as you will smell like a 60 a dayer after one night. The man on reception told us it was impossible that the room could smell of cigarettes as if we were having him on. Terrible customer service.

Whilst the area is safe the hotel doesn't feel secure. There was only one person working in the hotel after midnight and he was away from reception delivering room service. Fire doors onto the street remain permanently open to any passer by. It may not be central London where I come from but they're very trusting I'll give them that.

The rooms exclude some bizarre amenities. For example there's nowhere to throw rubbish away, leave it out and the cleaner will leave it too! Don't bother with the TV as its mainly static! Furniture has seen better days, needs some investment to get it back up to standard.

I obviously had much higher expectations with regards the price and star rating. We would not stay here again and I can't imagine it will be a 4 star when its reviewed again as its incomparable to other similar hotels we've stayed in in Spain.

FANTASTIC hotel,very friendly,english spoken, and helpful staff!!The hotel is not very far from the centre(10-12 minutes by train-''Ferocarils''-and 4-5 minutes walking) and the area is lovely,rich and safe.
The hotel is awesome!Fresh,clean,modern and the bed is just perfect!Nearby there is a super market,shops,restaurants,and a beautiful cafe-pastry house for excellent and rather cheap breakfast.Moreover just outside the hotel,there is a bus station and you can get to many central places comfortably.The hotel looks exactly like you see on the pictures(even greater) and we really enjoyed our time there!
