The Hotel is situated within easy walking distance of the City Centre. It is clean and the staff are helpful and polite. The rooms are good, clean, and functional. The only downside is that the hotel is situated right over the Metro and the trains can be heard and felt throughout the night. That being said we slept well and have no complaints. Would recommend the breakfast option. Lots to choose from and all fresh. Coffee was very good and fresh. We would stay again!!!

My mum and i arrived in Barcelona from Venice. After taking the AEROBUS to Placa Universitat we found the hotel within 5 minutes walking distance. You would miss the entrance to the hotel if you are not looking. The Hotel staff were pleasant. The hotel is modern and clean. Our room was on the 1st floor and we had a balcony. If you leave the balocny door open the streets are very noisy but if kept closed you can hardly hear the noise on the streets. You can feel the building shake when the train goes under the hotel. I dint find this overly annoying. Rooms were clean and had more space than i had anticipated. The hotel is slightly out of the tourist area and would not wander this area at night. During the day is fine. It is about a 10-15minute walk to La Rambla but a metro stop is right on the corner. We used to metro to get everywhere in Barcelona. Breakfast was very good. You could only enter the hotel after hrs via magnetic card which i found reassuring. not overly priced and 3 start all round. I would stay at the hotel again and recommend it to others.

We spent 6 nights at the gran ronda hotel in barcelona, on september 2011. We stayed on the 5th floor, facing the back of the hotel (not the street).
The location was very good (close to public transportation and by foot to all the main attractions), in a quiet and clean area. There were about 3 supermarkets very close and many cute cafes. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable.
The price was a bit high for a 3 star hotel, but given the fact that it was during La Merce festival and most of the hotels were fully booked, I must say I was very satisfied.
We didn't have breakfast included so I can't comment on the subject.

Location was acceptably close to the key site seeing locations eg main tourist bus start points, Las Ramblas, Catalunya Square, and restaurants. Room was fairly spacious, simple and uncluttered, with a good quality bathroom. Tiny balcony on to the street which was noisy however the double glazing did a good job of suppressing this.

University Metro stop is about 100m, the noise from the metro could be heard and it appears to run all night but not enough to keep us awake.

The buffet breakfast was good although the supply of food lagged behind the demand at peak times.

Responses to requests for help from reception staff varied from very good to totally disinterested when I asked for help to confirm and to chase up a late minibus pick-up.
