The first thing that called my attention is how quiet the rooms were, specially in such a central location. The rooms are nice, modern and with a decent bathroom. Breakfast was good and the restaurant (we had lunch twice) absolutely fabulous. The staff was very friendly ..honestly there's not much I can think they should improve. We had a fantastic stay
Tip for runners: The gym is on the 7th floor, just between the rooms. I felt a bit guilty by using the (loud) treadmill at 7 AM, I wish the isolation would have been better, or the gym placed on a different place.
In the gym itself there were maps for a couple of 5 & 10 km circuits downtown. I didn't use them, so I can't say how "realistic" it was to run from traffic light to traffic light

This hotel is centrally located in a very picturesque area of Barcelona. The rooms are minimalist and comfortable with good facilities generally. We came in winter so could not (or rather weren't brave enough) to use the pool, but it looked great and had spectacular views of the city. The staff were really very friendly and you couldn't fault them at all. Contrary to many reviews we found this hotel very quiet and were not disturbed by road noise at all.

The overall ambiance is chic and laid back with ambient music, mood lighting and lightly scented candles burning everywhere. Breakfast was a self service buffet consisting of great self serve coffee machines serving Nepresso coffee (I had coffee machine envy!), fresh juice, cooked breakfast cheeses etc; ok not exceptional but very good nevertheless. We even had a cheeky free Cava with breakfast daily!

The negatives (there are few and I'm being really picky here) The bed was a double and felt small for us used to a king-size bed. The room was very hot no matter how high we had the air conditioning and the air con unit seemed pretty ineffective to boot. The room we stayed in had messy grouting in and around the tiles, but I think people who are design conscious do notice these things, and generally the bathroom needed a bit of sprucing up.

Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel. It was fairly good value for money and I would definitely stay here again.

The name of the hotel is Central and you really couldn't get any more central. Just a short walk to La Rambla and right next door to the gorgeous cathedral.
Reception stafff could not have been more helpful with perfect English and lots of useful local information.
The hotel itself is a rather funky affair with understated colours but a very relaxed vibey atmosphere. The rooms were very well laid out and certainly used all available space.
I can't fault the staff and the service and we had a lovely couple of days, and the ever helpful reception even allowed us to check out at 4pm because of a later flight!
Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a centrally located hotel in Barcelona, as good for a business traveller as a romantic couple of nights.

We stayed for 3 nights including 31 December. Excellent hotel, very comfortable rooms and superb staff.
Unfortunately the aircon was switched off (heating only) and the room got incredibly stuffy. On our last night we asked if they could open the window (4th floor) which made a huge difference.
The roof terrace is great, but we didn't try the pool! Breakfast is OK - service a little chaotic, food not hot.
Great location.
