We love Barcelona and we come back here once in a while. This time we wanted to explore Catalonia region, rent a car and look for a hotel which is on the beach and at close distance to Barcelona and the airport. And that was it!
AC Gava is a nice, modern hotel. We had a standard room which was a bit small for 2 of us and a kid, but a couple should feel comfortable. We had a great rate which included a very nice Spanish breakfast. We loved it! A free mini bar with beer and choice of sodas was a real nice touch!
The room was well kept and clean. It is a pity there was no free internet in the room, no coffee/tea machine but we managed. The neighborhood is very safe, so we did not use the hotel parking. We left the car on the street in front of hotel with no problem.
They do not have a bar/restaurant except for breakfast. However, one night I felt bad and wanted to dissolve some medicine in hot water, which was given to my husband with no problem.
We recommend for dinner the Torreon restaurant just around the corner – good kitchen and selection of wines. There are many nice restaurants in the nearby Castelldefels too.
We would recommend the hotel to our friends who want to spend time on the beach or explore the Catalonia region!

Nice & stylish hotel right on the beach only 10 min away from Barcelona airport (have the address ready, not all cab drivers know where the hotel is located) The rooms are well designed and very modern (free minibar is a nice extra). There is no balcony, but you can open the large windows (and see & hear the sea!). There is free wi-fi in the lobby. The beach is great for watching the sunset.

A stylish, modern hotel, that is clean and well presented. Close to the airport (10 mins by cab for 20 Euro) but, thankfully, away from the noise and hubub. The local area has a sprinkling of shops and bars.
The public areas are bright and airy, the pool and terrace well tended. The spacious garden leads directly onto the beach.
My room, 212, had a direct, unhindered view across the pool and gardens to the sea. There is no balcony but there are large double, patio style doors.

My real issue with this hotel is that the charging structure appears to be run along similar lines to a budget airline. Extra for internet, 12 Euro, extra for parking, 14 Euro per day, extra for breakfast, 16 Euro.
They do offer free internet in reception but I do not consider this acceptable when travelling on business.
Any hotel that activly chooses to inconvenience it's guests for the sake of a quick hidden charge will not get my repeat business.

The location is fine, the rooms are fine, the facilities are fine. But I checked out with the kind of feeling that must accompany beeing robbed in the street.

This Marriott is a nice hotel, steps from the beach and close to the airport (30 Euro cab ride).
The staff was nice, room was clean and bed was ok. It was a hot October day, and the air conditioning is shut off the end of Sept, but we could open the window. Nice pool and patio area. Free Wifi in the lobby, which had complimentary coffee, tea and pastries in the afternoon. Best part of stay was the lovely Chez Bea, creperie on the little main street. It's a quiet little beach area, fine for a one night stay before heading to the airport. Only negative - come on Marriott let's get some new linens! Really holes in the bed sheets? We expect more from a Marriott.
