Perfect for a budget, working out at around €20-€30 a night! Ok, it's not the Ritz, but if like me you're not too fussy about your bed and if you can get over the icky feeling of sharing a bathroom with strangers, it was completely fine- the shower always had hot water and no queuing.To be honest we didn't ever encounter our neighbours in the apartment, despite fully occupancy, so it was pretty much like having an apartment ourselves! Good if you have travel companions already, maybe not if you're looking to meet some buddies. The apartment was on the 4th floor and there is no lift (well, there is one that can't be used for some strange reason) so be prepared to burn some calories! The staff were really helpful and accommodating, allowing us to just leave our key in the apartment when checking out as we had an early morning departure. My only qualm would be that the street the apartment was on was very quiet and a bit spooky-wouldn't particularly want to walk down it on my own at night- but if you're with a group I wouldn't say it would be a problem. This place is perfect for young people on a budget who just need a place to rest their head after a day's exploring and partying.

You get exactly what is says you get. A clean bed, bathroom, and kitchen. Our apartment was right on Les Ramblas, which was great. I think it depends on your luck in your apartment location. You can also probably ask them by e-mail in advance. All their staff speaks English very well.

We shared an apartment w/ another couple, and two girls. All three groups had their own room. Make sure to bring a towel. Our apartment was very bare, but it's just a place to sleep anyway. There was a living room in our apartment, which I think just had a couch. We didn't spend much time there. Not a lot of hot water (so take showers at different times, or short ones), but that's what old apartments in Europe are often like. Many Europeans I know turn off the shower while they soap up, and just turn it back on to rinse.

It's too bad we didn't check the hostel reviews BEFORE we actually booked it..

Positive:
+ nice price
+ not so far from the city center (uh, only true if they don't relocate you)

Negative (well, all the rest):
- You have to pay the total sum in advance, PLUS over 100 Euro for a kind of "room key security deposit".
- The personal is staffed from the students and they are kinda weird: one of them tried to trick me with the money change!
- We have booked an apartment directly on Las Ramblas, and then they told that "there are no free rooms left" (WHY? We've paid for reservation!), and relocated us into another city district which was no good at all.
- We had to FORCE the staff to bring us the bed linen and the heater - since they had no heaters in the room in December, and the windows could not be closed firmly (it was terribly cold in the room at night, even with their small heater)
- The "community rooms" like kitchen, shower and the living room have NO HEATING AT ALL
- The shower is a DISASTER - the worse i've ever seen. It's old, rusty, narrow, etc, etc.
- The water heater only heats it to 25 degrees celsius: it's terribly cold to take a shower under 25 degrees water, in the shower room which is only 8 degrees warm!!!

Conclusion: except of the cheap price, it was quite a disaster. I will never book it again, neither recommend it to anybody.

I simply loved it!!
We stayed in a great apartment in the middle of the Gracia-area.
It was a nice and quiet area where we could walk outside without getting robbed. It was just 10 minutes from the Ramblas :) We had great flatmates and the staff was really nice.

Im coming back here!
