“excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2010

We took a taxi from the airport but got the bus back which was much cheaper. We found the location perfect and enjoyed the tapas, bars and cafes in this area. The studio was clean and had all the equipment we needed. It would have been perfect for two but we had our teenage daughter with us and space was limited when the bed settee was pulled out. The rooms aren't serviced, only rubbish removed and beds made. No clean towels in 7 days so you might want to take your own. We didn't find the room particularly noisy and you could shut the windows as the ac was good. Internet access was free and reception loaned my daughter a usb cable so she could use her laptop. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had no problem with pickpockets although we were very careful.

“Up and Downs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2009

I quite enjoyed my stay at the apartments, it was a nice, clean place to relax after spending 8 days in various hostels in Madrid. It had a working a/c which was nice and a nice location. Super close to the Picasso Museum and little shops. I wouldn't call it a 'rough' area, most of Barcelona was pretty rough so you have to watch your bags but we never had a problem. Right next door was an Internet cafe that was very cheap, one hour for one euro, pretty good deal. I also enjoyed how the apartment allowed roof access, got some great street photos from up there.

A few downs however, glass bathroom door...not cool when your the only girl travelling with three guys (there was no lock on it either) And our toilet leaked water everywhere. It said the room slept four, but the pull out couch was only a single bed. It was fairly loud in the morning on the street, I could see how that would bother some people, but its not thaaat bad. And it was super hard to find, even with a map and directions from the lady that gave us the key to the place.

“small price... big oportunity”

We are group of 6 people just come back from Barcelona.
The position is great, you are in the Born district near Carrer de la Princesa at 5 minutes from Picasso Museum, from Ciutadella Park and from Metro (Jaume I, L4), 15 minutes from Port Vell and from Rambla.
The zone was quite animated and noisy, sure not for elderly or family with babies, but perfect for young groups.
Before coming, take a look at the timetable of Reception because they aren’t always in this place to give you the keys.
At the arrival the rooms are nice and tidy even if they don’t clean them unless you stay more than a week, they only remake the bed; there is the conditioner, the oven, the dishwasher, the cookware, the iron and the ironing board.
Unfortunately the walls are very thin and you’ll listen to people speaking, if they do it noisily, and mostly slamming doors.
Concluding choose this place if you’re young, not so picky and if you want to life the real Barcelona’s life (with sun and with dark).

“Excellent location and amenities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2009

We stayed at the apartment allada for 4 nights and were more than impressed. Yes it is somewhat noisy but it is extremely central. You always tend to have to make a trade off. On our 1st trip to Barcelona we stayed in a very nice quiet 4 star hotel but it was too far from the centre of the city and a pain to get around. This time we were prepared for it to be a little noisy but jumped at the chance of being central. The relative cost was great and contrary to other reviews I would definately stay again.
The only slight pain was that we arrived on the weekend and had to go to there offices 3km away to pick up the keys(advise a cab ride). There were people hanging around outside but its so central and the same as any major city center in our experience.
If you want queit and serenity stay somewhere else but be prepared for the hassle of getting in and out of the centre all the time.

The room itself was clean with excellent amenities including cooking facitlities even down to a juicer!!!

Great value for money, great time!!!!!!

“LOVELY APARTMENT HORRIBLE PEOPLE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2009

My mum and her 3 friends went to Barcelona to celebrate a 65th birthday, it was a treat for their friend.

They were there for two hours, left the apartment and literally got ten steps away when they were mugged by 6 men. This was in broad daylight, outside shops and the shop keepers literally laughed at them. They are all over 60 and could not believe what had happened. They went back into the apartment and were told by the receptionist that they would have to go to the police station as they do not come out to you. My mum and one of her friends had there bags literally ragged off them so they went to the police station, they were there for four hours, not offered a drink or anything and were laughed at which obviously made them very upset. They were then told nothing could be done regarding their passports and there was no Embassy open until Monday. My two sisters and I had to get a flight out on Saturday morning to take them there medication that had also been stolen and they were told 'no doctors' are here for you.

The apartment, although very small was nice and clean but the noise was very bad. On Sunday morning at about 9.30, a man came along with his bolt cutters and started stealing the bikes that were chained up outside. I passerby asked him what he was doing and he threatened her so she just carried on about her business. I would say if you have no choice but to go to Barcelona then the apartment is nice but in a very rough area. We got 'flashed' by a man in the middle of the street at 9 pm in the evening when there was loads of people around. We also spoke to other people who had been robbed either from their car - being told to pull over as they had a flat wheel and then getting robbed whilst they got out to have a look - or getting their bag ripped from them like my mum and her friend.

I am disgusted at the way the authorities did not offer them any assistance whatsoever and have vowed never to return to that godforsaken place EVER AGAIN. If you do go please be careful, this has totally ruined my mother and her friend. They have gone from being out-going fun loving people to ladies who were scared to go out of the door. I cannot express how bad it really was.

  • Liked — furniture
  • Disliked — Got robbed and then the apartments charged an excessive amount to our card.
