We were last minute and this hotel met our needs, based on previous review from trip advisor.

The location is good, a 15 min walk to any major attraction.

Hotel met our expectation: oom was ok, clean, beds ok, etc. The only criticism is that the carpet had a faint smell.

Would recommend it if you are looking for a utilitarian/functional accommodation.

It is tough to find a reasonably priced, well located hotel in Barcelona. This one is very good, between Plaza di Spagna and Plaza Catalunya.
The staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are OK. The breakfast is way overpriced! GoWiFi is only available in the lobby. The TV is horrible. There are plenty of restaurants right on the block. You can also easily walk to plaza di spagna where you will find even more. There is a shopping center there that is built to look like a bull ring. Take the outside elevator that rides up to the top and try the pizzeria up there, or one of the other two restaurants.

Stayed for 9 nights in Sept. Benefits of Hotel are the location which is not central but well connected due to the metro just around the corner. Being one street back from the busy and noisy Gran Via means that these rooms are quieter than others in the area. The rooms were clean but simple. No Wifi connection in the rooms but LAN cables available at the reception.
Room service was lacking, note to self: next time check for a bath towel before taking a shower.
The air conditioning is old meaning it has three levels but no room temperature setting.
Use of room safe costs!

my friend and i have just spent 5 fantastic days in barcalona! never been before but will return for sure!!! managed to cram lots of sights into our trip, lots of shoppin and still time for eating, drinking, and sunbathing!! the hotel is ideal for being close by to restaurants, shops and the local bus routes to las rambles but not close enough so you are disturbed by the busy nightlife in the early hours, very clean, staff helpfull and speak english, breakfast suited our needs just fine, would stay again at the hcc open xx
