“Fine hotel * Good Location * Walking distance”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

The hotel is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood, away from the noise of the Ramblas and Gran Via. If you enjoy walking, the distance from the hotel to Plaza Catalunya, and the Ramblas is not excessive and you will enjoy the scenery. Also you can walk to the nearest Tour Bus Stop.

Front desk persons were friendly and helpful.

“Overall good hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

The location was good, walking distance to the subway station and close to some tourist attractions; it was located in a nice and quiet residential neighborhood. The room itself was on a small side, but clean; however, it had no theme, no paintings or anything on the walls, just a desk, chair, and tv, The bed had a plain white comforter which made the room very boring. There were no colors in the room at all. The bathroom was very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us find things we were looking for in the city. Overall we had a pleasant stay, but I wouldnt call it a 4 star hotel.

“Great service from the front desk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

We arrived early in the morning before our room was ready and the desk clerk was very helpful in providing information on the area and things to do while we waited. We spoke to her a few more times during the stay as well as others who were always very courteous (and were gracious in allowing me to practice my Spanish!)

The room was very large and well designed. Some of the detail work was a bit lacking, but not a big deal. The location is excellent, in downtown and near major metro stations as well as convenience stores and a newspaper stand.

“Great location - room struggles to make 'average'”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

What was good - Pleasant and helpful reception, location, 6 or 7 min walk to Urgell Metro then 5 mins on the Metro to Catalunya (Top of the Ramblas), 10 min walk from airport bus. DVD player in room.

What could have been better - The room's decor could only be described as 'Dull and Soviet', no pictures, laminate floor, small window and narrow T shaped room. Air conditioning didn't do anything at all except made a noise, too hot at night. Breakfast was unexciting but satisfactory.

What was disappointing - The bathroom, unbelievably, has a GLASS swing door, fortunately I had read a previous review and took a roll of aluminium foil to cover it up.

Room Tip: I was on the 4th floor - 407, only 2 rooms had a narrow 'T' shape the rest according to the...

“Lovely hotel- location just ok.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011 via mobile

We really had a great stay here- the room was huge, really nice and really clean. Its a good hotel, staff were very nice. Only thin is that's its a good 20 min walk to the centre of the action - as in near the water. It really is a good hotel though, I would recommend it.
