Good location.Nice room and bathroom, Polite and usefull receptionists(Oliver/night shift/gave us a lot informations and details about Barcelona, you can really ask him everything:where to eat, drink, rent a bicycle near hotel for 6eur/day,...)
Only negative things are that AC didn't work well, can be big problem in summer(hotel generaly have problem with AC) and WiFi connection is not good(which is less important than AC).

Room Tip: Room 508,street view,it was noisy at saturday night, but when you are all day out you are so tired in...

“lovely room with modern look”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

the double-room looked great, and was decently-sized as well. the toilet was also big and airy with a bathtub.
a pity that the reception staff didn't seem too keen/capable of helping us. on the first night our AC wasn't working, but a phone to the desk got us the response that the guy couldn't help us as he couldn't leave the desk. the next morning, a trip down to inquire about the issue got us the response that the AC doesn't work during winter, and that we had to open the window if it got too warm.
strangely enough, that night the AC decided to blow out cold air, unlike the hot air it constantly emitted the night before (mind you, we had the settings in the right mode).
breakfast costs a rather hefty 9.50 euros, but the selection is decent, with a wide array of breads and pastries, cold cuts and cured meats, as well as hot dishes.

“Decent size rooms, hard beds, so so staff, great breakfast!”

This was my 2nd time to Barcelona. Last time we stayed on the same avenue so I should have known better. It's not the best part of town but overall is fine. The staff can be friendlier but I think that's the Spanish culture. We had a problem operating our safe and I think it took like an hour for someone to come help us. The instructions were soo wrong so if you're going to use the safe, you'll probably be asking for help too.

There are a lot of small eateries around the hotel so you won't have a problem there. The metro is SUPER convenient being right across the street so you can get pretty much anywhere. The only thing is that the subways stop at midnight which sucks for such a party town. After hours, they have something called a Nitebus. I didn't get a chance to try it but it seems convenient. The hotel is close to Las Ramblas which is nice.

Our room was decent. We had a fridge too which is nice to put bottled waters. We had 2 twin beds (double) which was nice since I was traveling with a friend. The beds were WAY too hard for me though. I even tried padding it with 2 of the thermal blankets but still too hard. We had a HUGE bathroom which was awesome! There were some weird smells though throughout the hotel. Nothing bad but more like concentrated Glade air fresheners (I'm not the biggest fan).

We had breakfast included in our package and it was YUMMY! They had an assortment of croissants, toast, pastry, yogurt, cereal, sausage, tea, coffee, OJ, some other juices and my favorite was the eggs and this frittata with potatoes.

“A pleasant surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

We paid far less for this 3 star restaurant then the ME barcelona which was a 5 star. It was no ordinary 3 star! Great location west of Las Rumblas. Tons of affordable restaurants and cafes. There is a cafe/restaurant in the lobby with reasonable rates and plenty of choices along diagonal avenue. The locatioon is tricky, it is located on Diagonal Avenue, the location on the website is the spanish version(differs from maps). Rooms were clean, staff friendly. The only complaint was the maids who entered our room twice without knocking/warning between 8:40am and 9:40am. No view from the room but the rooms were comfortable and modern. We liked it alot. Close to the Poble Sec station four blocks south from the Spanish Plaza.

Room Tip: If you can get a view bonus
