We stayed at Daniel's this summer. It is advertised as a bed and breakfast, but you do not get breakfast. You can make your own in the shared kitchen however. The neighborhood was not that nice, but it was close to the metro and city centre. Our room was dark and smelled damp. If you do not mind sharing a tiny kitchen and bathroom with other guests, it is a good deal.

We have just returned from a four day stay at Daniel's and very much enjoyed our time there. The flat is in a quiet residential neighbourhood, although there seem to be a few funky bars and cafes opening locally. We had the flat to ourselves, which was nice and it would be ideal for two couples or 3/4 friends to share. The building itself has some lovely modernista touches, and has been decorated with real charm and care - and the bed was extremely comfy! Roxanne, who met us, was also lovely and a mine of useful information. The flat is away from the touristy centre, but just a 5 minute walk to the parks of Montjuic, and a 10-12 minute walk (along C/Nou de la Rambla, most direct) to the Ramblas and the heart of town.

I just returned from a 4 nights stay in Daniel's Homestay and want to share my view on how nice it was! The building is just so typically barcelonian that i spent half of a film taking photos of the staircase, balconies and the familylife in the quiet streets around. The room ( what a great bed! slept like a baby) was clean and really nicely furnished. It was feeling like home coming back from a whole day of wandering through the city. It's good also to be able to do some light cooking and not to spend all evenings in restaurants. Daniel is a really nice and well learned man who can explain the city life to you. Thank you for telling me about all the best vegeterian restaurants, they were not in my guidebook! I'll be back, for sure!

Well the website looks great , but to arrive in the street with poorly kept apartment buildings all around, a dark dingy stairwell to climb and then to find out there is NO breakfast offered even though it is advertised as a B&B was bad enough, but the all night long barking of the neighbours dogs, the flaminco dancing practice in the apartment upstairs and then the 730 am wake up by the builders using our balcony as a work platform to repair the apartment aboves balcony topped it off. Apart from the view off the balcony at the slum like apartments opposite and the debris scattered on the balconys of them and the prostitues in the adjacent streets there were no real redeeming features apart from the bow of nice chocolates in the room. The 85 euro cost equating to approx. $150 AUD a total rip off, the Backpackers would have been a much better choice.
