Hostal Lami is a fairly nice hotel. Truth is we booked it thanks to the low price offered in easy click travel. There is nothing special about it, still it was excellent- the room was clean and luminous and we really enjoyed staying there.

Considering that we've paid less to stay in a hostel, Hostal Lami is not the most value-for-money hostel we've been in. The location is far from the city centre even though there's a tram station about a 10-minute walk away, and the cleanliness of the rooms are in a very bad state. There was a cigarette butt hole in my bedsheet, the blankets provided in the wardrobe were so dusty and musty that we didn't dare to use them for fear of triggering bedbug attacks. The toilet is small and the shower cabin is simply dirty and disgusting. The room smelt old and musty, and there was no much light in the room which gave way to a very gloomy atmosphere. Free coffee and hot chocolate were provided every morning though, with small snacks, and the staff was quite helpful. Overall however, it was not the best experience we've had, and if I visited Barcelona again, I would not choose to go back to this hostel.

Stayed for the Spring Bank Holiday weekend to see a Barcelona match at the Nou Camp. The hotel is only a few stops from the Nou Camp on the tram, so really handy if you are ever going to a football match there!
I went with my friend and my 12 year old son who has mobility problems and the location of the hotel did not cause any problems for my son. There are buses that run near the hotel, none of which we used, as we used the tram that stops about a 5mins walk from the hotel, a bit more with my son!
The reception area is clean and welcoming and all the staff were very friendly and spoke English so we did not have a problem with communicating. The room was a triple and basically they stuck an extra single bed in a twin room, but there was still plenty of room. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink and it is clean with towels changed daily. The bedding was also changed daily.
The hotel is near to bars, supermarkets and a few banks. The bars are full of families in the evening sitting outside enjoying a few quiet drinks, so don't expect a rowdy pub with music.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone, whether you are on a budget or not.

The Hostal Lami is a little bit out of barcelona centre but it's only a short tram journey to the main transport hub.
The hostal is clean, well kept, reasonably modern, with friendly staff who speak many languages. It's situated in the outskirts of Barcelona but it's still in a populated area so there are plenty of bars, shops, tram stop and restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the hotel. Plus you don't pay the same inflated prices as you do within central barcelona.
I was recovering from a serious leg injury when I stayed here and had no problems getting around using public transport. The hotel doesn't serve breakfast but there is a cafe next door that will serve you coffee and croissants for a minimal price.
