The website of this Hostel is fantastic! And the photografer made an impossible job: transforming this place in a idyllic place!

BUT... it's nothing like that! The room I stayed in had a small window which I couldn't close because it was too high. This window was my "view" to MACBA Museum and to the courtyard, the place for smokers! So I didn't sleep much because of the awful smell in my room and the noise from outside.
None of the 3 bathrooms I tried was very clean. Although it was good weather I missed a blanket, there was just a bed sheet.

And the wifi internet is just wifi in the entrance!

Thankfully was just for one night!

Overall the place suffered a very bad renovation.

It was cheap, yes, but I believe there MUST be a better place in Barcelona to stay! Search arder and you will find a better place.

This place is ok if you want cheap, we payed 175 euros for 3 nights with a double bed and ensuite bathroom. If you can find cheaper, then I would try elsewhere. The rooms are pretty clean, the service is ok, it was cleaned every day, and the staff were pretty good as well. The hotel is also in an area that has lots of cheap bars and restaurants, that aren't tourist traps...so in that sense it was good..but it is a bit of the dodgy side of town and certainly not beautiful like the Gothic side.

Things that weren't great were: Paper thin walls, if you like hearing other couples screw then this is the place for you! Nothing to stir the coffee/tea with in the morning, there is a television, but no channels, there is wifi, but only in reception. The area is a bit dodgy we witnessed a gang fight just down the road, and lots of homeless people close by.

Firstly, their website is misleading - it gives the impression that the hostel is a beautiful clean modern building. It is not. Gat Raval is located on the second floor of a dingy apartment block with an awful looking entrance.

Our room was booked months in advance but when we got there they didn't have a room of the right type for us! They offered us unsuitable alternatives so we found much better accomodation nearby for only a little more money.

Try the Acta hotel a couple of doors away - they put us in touch with the Acta Splendid (highly recommended) which is a couple of streets away. If they have free rooms in the late afternoon they may cut you a deal on the price.

...as you are close to La Rambla and nice bars. Other than that GatRaval is average at most. The rooms are smallish, which is ok. The communal bathrooms wer quite dirty, which I found less ok. Quite disturbing are the paper-thin walls. Every (I mean EVERY) noise from the next rooms can be heard.
All in all it was ok for my two nights stay in Barcelona, but next time I would stay elsewhere.
