“Great location, perfectly OK hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

The hotel has a superb location. Central to, well, everything. A block or two to the metro; easy walking distance to La Rambla and of course great restaurants abound. It is, in my opinion, a perfectly fine business person's hotel. The lobby is simple; really just a meeting place. The staff are young, friendly and generally helpful. Because we were there with a large family group we got to see a lot of rooms. Some were better than others; one, billed as non-smoking, smelled terrible. Another had no apparent mechanism to remove moisture from the bathroom so it was musty; but the other five rooms we were just fine.Clean and comfortable. No views, but for the price, it's a more than a good deal. We left Barcelona for awhile and then came back -- to the same hotel -- so we voted with our wallets as well.

“Comfort, Location, Great Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

We checked in with our adult daughter to a room that easily accommodated three of us. We were thrilled with the location as we could walk to virtually every site we wanted to visit save two. The hotel is just a half block off of Paseo de Gracia, and near many of the fabulous Gaudi homes and other structures. We also discovered fabulous restaurants just a walk away, as well as Crusto, an amazing bakery with wonderful breakfast breads and coffees (one night we bought sandwiches here and ate al fresco). To demonstrate how amazing the hotel is, here is an example. I always carry a fan with me. We left for the day and at some point I realized my fan was missing (I'd had it with me when we left our room). When we returned hours later I mentioned that I'd lost my fan, never imagining I'd dropped it in the hotel. Surprise! The desk clerk said the maids had found it in the hall near the elevator and there it was. The desk staff speak english and made every effort to be of help to us. It's a lovely setting and a pleasure to stay here. One caveat: the breakfast is extra and as with most hotels in Europe it is quite pricey. We enjoyed finding our bakery which was delicious and affordable! So pass on taking breakfast and wander knowing you will return to this lovely oasis in the hustle bustle of Barcelona!

“A few days in Barcelona”

An ideal location for a stay in Barcelona. The hotel was comfortable and fairly central for everything we wanted to do. We were there in late October and it was comfortable but I do think that the lack of air-con could make it unbearable in the middle of the summer.

“Excellent locattion, average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

The hotel is very clean, room size is OK, breakfast selcection good (did not llke their coffee), free WIFI.
The location of this hotel is the best thing about it, just a few meters from the wonderful Paseo de Gracia, and walking distance to Plaza Catalunia. What I did not like is the hotel ambience and decoration, somewhat outdated and gloomy.

Room Tip: Do not miss Casa Batllo - 200 meters walk from the hotel.
