This is the 2nd time I have stayed here, the 1st time was over 10 years ago. It was clean and tidy with nice staff. It is very well located in the middle of Las Ramblas with good bars, restaurants and shopping close by.
My only gripe was no facilities for making tea/coffee in the room.

Just got back from Barcelona having had a great stay at the oriente. Cannot fault the staff as all were professional, helpful and friendly...the rooms were basic but clean and comfortable and the location could not have been better as was right in the middle of ramblas...for a girls long weekend away we couldn't moan at the price either. All in all, a reasonable price for a great stay in such a beautiful city, I would definitely
Stay here again.

If you are going to a performance at Spain's premier opera house (sorry Madrid), you cannot do better than stay here. It's right in the heart of the town virtually next door to the Liceu. Despite our third floor room overlooking the Ramblas, it was totally quiet. The room itself was just fine - not fussily decorated - although perhaps one extra seat would have been welcome. Breakfast - of good quality - is served in what would have once been a courtyard now covered by a huge glass pyramid. If travelling to the hotel from the airport ignore the airport bus but travel instead on service bus 46 to its last stop, Plaça Espanya. From there, catch Metro line 3 to Liceu. A 10 ride ticket that both allows for interchange and for use simultaneously by more than one passender can be obtained from ticket machines the the entrance to the airport railway station.

This was my first visit to Barcelona but it cetrainly won't be my last. It's a fascinating town with the feeling of a capital city. The architecture - all of it, not just the works of Gaudi - is stunning. Good restaurants abound.

Stayed for the weekend 2 weeks ago. Hotel was nice enough, rooms basic but clean. Beds clean, plenty of towels, good shower. Staff friendly but we didnt make many demands. Very central but although we were facing the front it wasn't particularly noisy. Loved Barcelona, great atmosphere - would happily stay in this hotel again.
