We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights Aug 30-September 3, as part of a trip through Spain and France. I definitely agree with the other reviewers about the location - its great. Very close to La Rambla (2 minute walk down a nice street) but far enough away that its quiet for sleeping. Its also very close to the Market, which is a definite must-see if visiting Barcelona. There's also a parking garage across the street from the hotel, but I don't know if there are any discounts associated with being a guest at the hotel.

I found the hotel to be clean, and pretty modern on the inside, and appears to have been very recently renovated/refurbished. My wife also liked it, and she can be fussy about this kind of thing, so that's a good sign.

We stayed in a superior room with a terrace. Our room was quite large (especially by European standards) with two twin beds put together, rather than a Queen (not unusual in Europe), with a couch, flat screen TV, and a good sized closet and bathroom, as well as a terrace, overlooking the street. I've seen the standard rooms and there is a BIG difference - especially considering they're not that much cheaper than the superior rooms.

The hotel has 3 computers with internet access that are free for guests to use, and a breakfast area that serves a standard hotel breakfast (its fine if its included in your room rate, but probably not worth buying if its not).

Hotel Staff was friendly enough - they don't go out of their way, but they're not rude either, which is fine with me. Its not a 5 star hotel, after all.

Overall, it was a very pleasant stay - I have no complaints with the place. Great location, nice, clean and modern, reasonably priced for the location.
It is not a 2 star hotel - its not priced like a 2 star and the rooms and amenities are definitely 3 star quality at a minimum.

I would recommend the hotel for sure, but with the proviso that if you're staying for more than 1 night or 2, opt for the bigger room - its just more comfortable.
