“A great wee hotel for a family stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

Wonderful little hotel, pretty basic but then you don't go to Barcelona to sit about in your room.Clean, well maintained and good maid service.Situated a stones throw away from Clot metro and mainline railway station so although you are a bit away from the centre you can be there in about 15 mins.Very helpful reception staff and an excellent breakfast. We will be using this hotel the next time we come to Barcelona.

“Good position but old hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011

I went to Catalonia Albeniz last September. Our room was at the first floor it was a simple room: clean and "essential"...we were near the lift so the first day, someone turned off the indication near the door and they didn't clean our room...the following day everything was ok, also because the lift was broken...luckely we were on the first floor, because it was repaired only after 2 days!!!
The greatest problem was the hair-dryer: I thought it was broken, beacuse after 3 minutes using it stopped. I've got long hair so it was really a problem, I asked to change it but they told me that my hair-dryer was checked and it was correctly working, so it would be of no use changing it...
The hotel need to be renewed but it has a good position: it is 5 minutes from the station and it is a very good thing...

“Didn't stay.”

We had this hotel booked for us by Travelbag cruises (what a nightmare they are.. But that is for another review) after a cruise on a five star ship, this hotel was very basic. We got there at about 10am and our two rooms were not available. We left our luggage with them and went into central Barcelona for a few hours. We returned mid afternoon and were allowed into the rooms. My first thoughts were that it was like a youth hostel.... We are talking BASIC.... Don't get me wrong, it was clean, but way to sparse for me. I like to feel comfortable in a hotel, and could not have done that here. We didn't unpack and I booked anothr hotel online and we were gone within 20 minutes.

“Lovely little hotel in a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights from 18 - 22 July. Its a lovely little place, rooms are very clean and functional, despite the smallish size it was OK for our needs for the awesome price we paid. Located just next to the Clot Metro station, in a quiet suburban part of Barcelona, this was perfect because it avoided all the madness and touristy traps that you'll find in the La Rambla district, but is only one metro stop (L4 line) away from La Sagrada Familia!

The hotel front desk and manager was always helpful whenever we asked for tips or directions. It was always nice to return here after a hard day of exploring the city to relax and sleep in our room. There is also free wireless internet available throughout the hotel for free - ask reception for the password.

The room's windows also had external heavy duty metal shuttle blinds, which you can lower during the day to block out 100% of the sun and heat, putting the room into total darkness - perfect for that afternoon Siesta!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the higher floors to be away from the street traffic

“Old hotel in a poor location for tourist”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2011 via mobile

An old hotel in a residential part of town. It is next to two main roads that gets very noisy.

Poor breakfast service.

It is close to a metro station. You will need it to get to all tourist sites. Not within walking distance of anything of interest.

Might be worth considering paying more for central location and better facilities.
