“Good budget hotel”

The room was clean and comfortable. It was smaller than it seemed to be in the photos but not too small. The bathroom was also nice and clean. We found it easy to walk from there to Sagrada Familia and Monumental Metro station. We stayed for 3 nights and found it convenient to have breakfast in the hotel before exploring the city.Barcelona was such a fantastic city.We loved visiting all the Gaudi sites. Apart from Sagrada Familia we visited Park Guell and La Pedrera. It was really easy to get around from there. We used the metro , but also walked a lot. One night we walked back to Acta Antibes from La Rambla. The room was quiet and we had no problem with noise from other rooms. The staff were also friendly and helpful although not very impressed with my attempts at speaking Spanish!!!(not in an unfriendly way, more just not wanting to waste time trying to speak Spanish with such a beginner and preferring to communicate in their much better English--than my Spanish)It was a quiet location which suited us, and not much was open nearby late at night for dinner, although we did have dinner one night in a Tapas Bar just across the road. The owner was very friendly and patient with my Spanish.. We even had a chat.

“Highly recommended!”

I stayed in this hotel with a friend for three nights. Even prior to our arrival the staff were extremely helpful, responding promptly to emails and recommending the best route to get to the hotel via public transport.

The room itself was clean and comfortable, and large given that it's a two star hotel. Our room was at the back of the hotel so there was no street noise. The only thing I would say about it is that because the rooms have wooden floors you could hear quite a bit of noise from the rooms above and beside us.

The location was excellent - it is a 2 minute walk to the nearest Metro station, and a 5 minute walk to Sagrada Familia which is a must-see for anyone staying in Barcelona. We also walked into the city centre one of the days which only took 20 minutes.

I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone going to visit Barcelona. It's an excellent base from which to explore this beautiful city. It certainly feels like more than a 2 star, and is excellent value for money.

“Clean, central and very helpful staff!”

Unfortunately for me, my holiday didn't go off too well. Some Barca undesirables decided to lighten my load by helping themselves to my travel wallet. Containing my passport and cash. My feet had only touched Spanish soil for an hour, if that, when it happened. Needless to say, I was shocked and not looking forward to the rest of my holiday.

My two friends and I arrived at Acta Antibes and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Upon hearing of my incident, they found out all the necessary information I needed to report the crime and get my Emergency Travel Document so I could get home at the end of my holiday.

I am terribly fussy when it comes to hotels, but I have to say, it was quiet and the rooms here were very clean - even by my standards. Thankfully, the beds were very comfortable so I managed to get a good nights sleep. The location is perfect for shopping and the main sights and attractions of Barcelona. It literally is 10minutes walk from the beautiful Gaudi Cathedral. (Sagrada Familia). There is also a lovely little bakery nearby where you can get a tasty pastry and a nice cup of tea for your breakfast.

I don't normally write reviews, but I felt I needed to write something and thank Acta Antibes for being so helpful.

With the help of my friends and the lovely hotel staff, my holiday wasn't a total disaster.

Thank you, staff of Acta Antibes.

Room 603!

“Reasonable choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Hotel Acta Antibes is a decent, reasonably-priced hotel in the eastern part of the Eixample of Barcelona. It is one block north of the Gran Via and a few minutes walk to Metro Monumental. Breakfast is optional (a little pricey at 8.70 euros). As another reviewer mentioned, it is not spectacular, but it is clean and comfortable enough, staff are helpful with enough English spoken. Wifi is free, but can be patchy depending on the room you are in. You also need to get separate password for each electronic device you are using. All in all, a reasonable choice.

“Well-priced and a good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We stayed for 3 nights for a birthday trip to Barcelona, knowing the area well, so we know it's a little out from the areas many people want to stay in. That said, it's a couple of minutes walk to Monumental Station and a little further to Sagrada Familia Station - so very handy for getting around.

We arrived a couple of hours before normal check-in, and were greeted in a friendly and professional manner at Reception in English. We were able to check-in immediately, which was great.

Our room was on the 4th floor, and the hotel has a lift. It was at the rear, with no view (except of some apartments/couurtyard) but this also meant it was pretty quiet. The twin beds pushed together fine to make a large double, and the beds were extremely comfoRtable. So, all in all, we slept great.

There's a flat-screen TV, with with a couple of English-language channels, but we weren't there to watch TV! Space was adequate in the room, and it was extremely clean. We didn't have enough pillows, and they were brought up on request. the bathrooms have been refurbished to a good standard, and it was nice to have a bathtub. The noise from adjoining rooms comes via a slatted bathroom window. A little drawback, but at least it ventilates the bathrrom!

The only real criticism is that the room could do with a small fridge for drinks or tea/coffe-making facilities. There's no bar, nor even a drinks vending machine. the hotel is, however locally well-served by a variety of restaurants/cafes etc, so you don't have to go far for taps/drinks/meals if you choose.

We really like the neighbourhood, as it's quite untouristy in some ways, giving you a wander round a slice of everyday Catalan life. The restaurant/bar across the road is great - real Catalan hospitality, and a phrase or two in Catalan will get you a real friendly service.

Allin all, well worth the money for this city, and we would certainly return.

Room Tip: Request a double if you prefer one.
