A nice hotel into the NH standards. Clean, quiet, smart decorated with comfortable beds. Its location is a quiz. If you choose it during the Formula 1 days, it is good because it is ~20 minutes walk (1,5 km & easy to find, for Sat - Sun is ok) to the train station (Sants Estació) to Montmello. If that is not your case and you are interested in sightseeing downtown the nearest Metro line (Urgell) is ~600 meters (a little bit inconvenient). The breakfast is quite good (try it!). The great plus of this hotel is the staff. Warm, with a big smile on their faces and always willing to help you.
The Great MINUS is the price. It is expensive, especially for nowadays.

Good service, quite small but clean rooms, furniture somewhat worn.
However, if you just stay for business and do not have much time to stay in the room and do not need much comfort, the place will definitely do. The wake up call was on time - something that hardly ever works in hotels these days :-)

We stayed here for 4 nights. Very clean and comfortable rooms (you can even choose from 5 or 6 different pillows if you want). The shower has a firm stream (disadvantage is that the bathroom gets wet after taking a shower).

After cheking in and visiting our room we asked for a new room, because this first room (105) had a sigarette smell. Our next room (201) had a better and fresh vibe with a bigger window overlooking a courtyard and basketball field.

Free wifi in the lobby is a nice service, but logging on to the hotel network is not an easy job.

Despite of the special offer when cheking in (approx. 10 euro per person) we did not make use of the breakfast service, but went out for a breakfast at Dino's around the corner (2,20 euro a person!).

The area of the hotel has a lot of nice restaurants and some small convenience stores. Advantage of this area is that you are away from the touristic hassle and noise.
Disadvantage of the location of the hotel is that the neareast metro station and Turistic Bus stop is about 15-20 min. walk. But if you want to explore the area this is a good opportunity. A taxi will take your for about 8-10 euro to Plaza Catalunya (20 min walk) and 35 euro from the airport.

Despite this hotel is not close to the Ramblas I would still recommend going here and use it as comfortable base to get some rest during your stay in Barcelona with comfortable beds and a good price/quality rate.

1. My room was right outside the elevators and thus the maids closet. The maid continously dropped her mop outside my room. Pergo/ laminate floors in rooms and tile in hallways makes for VERY noisy rooms. The walls are VERY thin and you can hear people in the next rooms (forget it if they drop something sizeable or slam the door on the fridge).
2. I was also VERY upset with the 11.00 Euro a day charge for internet in the rooms, that was crazy. All other hotels offer it, so why not? They couldn't give a reasonable answer.
3. I was with a large group of 10 people. Every other room in our group breakfast was provided, yet I had to pay 14 euros for what amounted to coffee and a danish. When I quizzed/ complained why I had to pay.. I was told to call the travel agent in Dallas.
4. The other three hotels we stayed at in Spain all offered free wifi in room and free minibar, so I guess I am a bit spoiled since this chain appears to offer nothing but the basics.
Won't be staying at an NH Master hotel again as there are many other better choices that offer more and often at better prices. Also NO Pool, spa, workout rooms etc.
