The first impression wasn't the best. The room was not ready upon our arrival which was after check in time, luckly we could leave our bags in storage. After coming back to the room, it had a strong cigarette smell, but complaints to reception did not really change anything, as the toilet paper was covering fire detector, which did not seem appropriate for a 4* hotel.
But for the price we paid it was quite reasonable experience and standart room was big enough.
Have to admit that location is quite convenient, just 15 min from Familia Sagrada and 5 min from the nearest metro station which is a quick and cheap ride.

Bed Bugs!!!! I was bitten all over my body. 8 bites on my right hand alone!!!

Do not waste your money here!!! The staff is incredibly rude.

We woke up to bed bugs in the middle of the night. Luis, the night receptionist, was not alarmed and not even apologetic. He didn't seem the least bit shocked. He moved us to a significantly smaller room. I asked for the manager and he said Ms. Sanchiz was on holiday, but she would contact us when she got back. We have yet to hear one word from management.

We spoke with Annabel, morning receptionist, the following morning and she said, "To say sorry, we will do your laundry." The idiots put the laundry back on the bed!!! They offered no other compensation- not even to pay for our medication-over 100 Euros! My boyfriend had to go to the hospital for antibiotics!

At the farmacia, the lady asked which hotel had the bed bugs. I said, "Confortel Bel Art" and she immediately said that she has heard about bed bugs there!!!

Since Ms. Sanchiz has not contacted us, I can only assume that they have not fixed the bed bug problem and are continuing to rent the room to innocent travelers.

Do not stay at Confortel Bel Art- they have very rude staff and bed bugs!!! Also, the most uncomfortable beds I've ever experienced (two twin beds pushed together to make a bigger bed-W.T.F!)

If you want to avoid the noise, filth and trashy people who tend to populate the centre of Barcelona on weekend nights (easyjet and ryanair hen and stag parties) then this is an ok location. Its a fairly modern hotel, rooms are a bit over designed and its extremely hard to get a double bed, but if you ok with twins you can push together but never feel like a double then its fine. Its really a business hotel but breakfast is fine, cold meats, cheese, bread, fruits, eggs, sausage and dry bacon. Location is fantastic for Segrada Familia which is only a few minutes walk away and metro is around 5 minutes. Dont expect old spanish charm, but its efficient and a decent enough place. I lived in Barcelona 6 years and avoided the centre like the plague at weekends, so when I return I stay here, but if you want to be right in the heart of the city, then this is NOT the hotel for you. Internet was fine when I was there, TV stations numerous but only English one is BBC World if that sort of thing is important to you.

Not the most central location but convenient due to very short distance from metro station.
Bathrobe and other stuff you expect to find in the room were not there but provided upon request. Cigarette burn marks on the furniture and bathromm (smoking room).
Expected better for the paid price.
