“Good location - poor breakfast and overpriced.”

Firstly can I say that this hotel is best located within easy access to all of Barcelonas attractions. We stayed from the 6th -9th Feb in room 108 which faced the front of the hotel and the main street. Room comfortable and clean.

Breakfast - this was terrible and I would eat my arm if I was hungry. The hotel charges 15 euro for this and is not worth it. I would go down the street and eat at the various local cafes etc to which you would have a larger selection and also better quality. The bread was stale, the fruit juice out of a machine came with its own frothy top, coffee (again out of a machine) tasted off and the mikl sour. My partner and I got there just before 7 one morning and was told by an abrupt waitress that breakfast was at 7, to which she slammed the door in our face !!!. Also breakfast time appears to be when the staff also have there breakfast and can be seen standing in a row eating theirs in the kitchen!!!! - Not sure if this is a good or bad thing???

Otherwise a very pleasant stay, basic, clean, but do not go B&B waste of your money. A cafe/bakery serving bacon eggs/cakes/crepes etc - head towards Las Ramblas and it is on your left side, with a small sandwich shop (takeaway) (same company) opposite on your right side .

I would recommend this hotel to others, though stay clear of the breakfast and restaurant|||||

Room Tip: Ask for one on the front - you hardly hear the noise and they are the best ones that have been recen...

“Very Good Location”

The first thing i think about is the very good location,
it's in the middle of La Rambla street, where all the fun and the shopping is there.

it's very clean and safe.
nice staff.

“Excellent Location, but the noise may as well have slept on the streets”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Could not fault the hotel for location, in the middle of all the action, but up a side street. At the bottom of the street is the irish bars, My Bar, Temple BAr, Schillings etc. all great atmosphere and a must for the English, although have to add rather expensive., but Barcelona in all is rather expensive. The hotel room 163 which was for 3 adults, beautiful and spacious, 2 bedrooms, we decided two would sleep in the front room with the balcony and 1 would sleep in the back room!!! If it hadnt have had the back room which I hastily moved into I would have asked to move rooms, the noise was shocking you may as well have slept in the street, no double glazing the windows didnt shut properly and the noise from the courtyard was shocking. On the second night all 3 of us shared the double bed in the back room. Room 163 a definate no no!. Breakfast was ok but in the bowels of the earth and smell to match it - thank god for toast and marmalade.

Had a beautiful meal in Sinathra's up the alley, sampled the tapas was gorgeous and could have ate it again and again. Each tine you walk around you find new square with more bars, if you enjoy the spanish wine then your fine but a gin and tonic on the last night set me back 11 Euro's, and 25 Euro's for 3 cocktails , you would just refuse to pay it in England! Dont get me wrong had a great trip with great friends, but to sum it up Barcelona is expensive and cant see it getting any cheaper, stay off Les Ramblers for eating and drinking, Sagrada Familia is a must and if the queues are long, they go down really quick our queue as past mcdonalds and went down in 10 minutes, also Park Qwell is a must, although it was raining when we went we stopped off the Jambon baguette and wine. mmmm - Hope this helps.

Room Tip: Do not stay in room 163

Really good location just off Las Rambla, very easy to locate, great room with powerful shower! , nice little balcony overlooking the street, friendly staff, and good for holding luggage after check out. Free walking tour was well worth doing which leaves hotel at 10.30am on a saturday.

Room Tip: twin room on first floor has lovely balcony looking onto side street and is not too noisey

“Excellent hotel.”

Just got back from a stay in the Rialto hotel and I have to say we were very happy with the quality and service. Room clean and a good size and balcony overlooking the main street was perfect. Not much noise at nights and bang in the middle of the action. A stones throw away from bar shilling which serves great cocktails and beer and good bar food for lunch. Hotel near to the square with some amazing restaurants serving brilliant value meals. Three course meal for two with a bottle of wine for 38 euros, can't grumble at that. If you want something extra special you have to try the restaurant Pla...google it! Superb.
Hotel staff were excellent and the breakfast was pretty good although it was like feeding time at the zoo sometimes but patience is a virtue and all that. Three nights bed and breakfast for two at less than £200 in the centre of a vibrant city, what on earth have the people in the previous reviews got to moan about? I suspect they would moan if the staff carried them personally to their rooms and hand fed them pealed grapes.
If your'e the kind of person that expects the Hilton at Fawlty Towers prices then don't stay at the Rialto. If you appreciate hard working staff and a comfortable, clean and perfectly located hotel I'd get booking your next stay here although avoid January as we want to go back and don't want the rooms to get fully booked.

Room Tip: Street view.
