“FANTASTIC FIND!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We booked this hotel for a 4 night stay before we boarded our cruise ship for a 2 week Transatlantic cruise. This was the PERFECT place to stay!! The breakfast was wonderful with so many different choices from hot bacon, to a cheese plate, different kinds of eggs, fresh fruit, homemade pastries and rolls with a wonderful combination of American and European flair. Our room was very clean and spacious, for European standards. If we go back to Barcelona, we will stay here for sure!!!

Room Tip: Ask for one towards to back. Some of our friends stayed in the front and it was slightly noisy one...

“Fab location, tiny rooms, good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

The hotel is in a fantastic location, one minute away from placa Catalunya. If you are looking from the hotel from placa CAtalunya, look for Habitat shop, and it is on the road with the Mc Donalds at the corner.airport busses are parked in the square and leave every few minutes, a great service. Use metro blue line or green line les Cortes stop to see the great Messi and co. . The Market, la Boqueria on Las Rambla is well worth a look, for the colourful displays alone.
Bus trip is also well worth doing, the blue line is more interesting but great way to see the city. It was €26 for one day and €33 for two days sight seeing.
Los Coracoles restaurant is a unique place, really nice for a drink during the day and to sneak a walk through the restaurant. You walk through the kitchen with many chefs cooking up a storm. It's very quiet during the day. Devil's Kitchen bar is in a dodgy area and would not chance it after twilight but does a fantastic burger and for a great price too!

Room Tip: Rooms facing road are obviously noisier, rooms at back whiter but no view.

“Ideal small hotel in a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Hotel Inglaterra is in a great location just a couple of minutes walk away from the Plaza Catalunya and from the top of the Ramblas. However, it is also very reasonably priced - £80 a night for a double room throughout Christmas week, including breakfast - and the rooms are very comfortable and clean, if a little on the "cosy" side rather than spacious.

It does lack some the features provided by 4* hotels (such as a large reception; gym; swimming pool etc) but if you don't need these extra features why pay for them? I would definitely recommend it.

Dear BobW2000,
Thank you very much for sharing your opinion of your stay in Hotel Inglaterra. However, I would like to remember, that on the 6th floor of the hotel we opened last season a new pool for our guests available during summer and that nowadays we still a 3 star hotel. It's always satisfactory to know that you had us in such a high cosideration. If you ever decide to come back to Barcelona
we will be glad to welcome you! Kind Regards.

“Good hotel, bad internet service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

The hotel is good.
location, food, room, clear, clean, ok.
The only problem is the internet. Those who seek a decent connection will find a too slow one. I could hardly check my mail. They offer a faster connection for additional payment (10EU a day, smaller time chunks are available), so it doesn't sound to be a free wi-fi hotel anymore, which should be a basics in 2012.

“VERY GOOD HOTEL AT A GOOD PRICE AND GREAT LOCATION!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

people found this review helpful

Hotel Inglaterra is in a great location in Barcelona just off Plaza Catalunya; its a great buy for the money! The buffet breakfast is incredible also. The rooms and baths are very nicely decorated. I wish they had lunch and dinner service downstairs where the breakfast is served but did enjoy having a glass of wine there as its a bar after breakfast. All in all, a very positive experience and I do plan to stay there again!

Room Tip: Any room is a good location in this hotel.
