“A nice hotel, but very unprofessional staff”

The hotel it self it’s nice, but we were very disappointed by the staff. I ask at the kitchen staff to give me a glass of hot water to take medication and I received hot water from the tap. Early in the morning the lady cleaners weak us up by the noise they made. When we asked to keep quiet as we were still sleeping, they were indeed very rude (the spanish woman, well groomed and full of make-up was indeed a person that will need serious training on how to treat guests). We enjoyed visiting Barcelona, but we didn't appreciate this hotel at all.

“Better than average and certainly good value for money”

I stayed here for work- I have stayed at places a million times worse ( travelodge) so i was quite thrilled at the exterior and interior of the hotel and the rooms, i thought it was extremly clean, lovely furniture...i would recommend this to anyone work or tourist, the location is wonderful as well in a really affluent area near the uni lots of lovely shops, cafes and delhis and about 1 min from Maria Christina subway stop so an ideal distance from the city with lots of lovely places in between e.g. Diagonal - just learn spanish as the desk workers english isnt fantastic, which is fine but tricky!!!

Room Tip: I was near the air con vents so i would suggest asking to not be near then! but def front facing! th...

“Misleading Photos”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

I stayed in this hotel recently and was flabbergasted at how plain and old the room furnishings were, something like you would expect in a bedroom from the 1950s except that I think the bedspread actually is from the 50s. If there are rooms in the hotel that look like this photo, I didn't have one. In a city full of beautiful hotels, this was a terrible disappointment. Nevertheless, the bathrooms did appear newer and everything was clean. My room was blissfully quiet and the bed very firm. Breakfast was pleasant and substantial enough and the staff were helpful. They did miss my wake up call, though, on an important day. Not 4 star by American standards at all.

“Moderately comfortable and convenient”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

A modern and well furnished Hotel ,with friendly staff. Breakfast was adequate but not well presented coffee/tea were somewhat tasteless. Taxis or long walks to attractions are required. Beds and wash facilities were clean and operated efficiently .I would book again but would seek a venue nearer the town centre.

“Not 4 star and weak air con, but comfortable with clean rooms and lovely helpful staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

I stayed with my husband and baby and we got a cheap deal online. After reading some reviews, we expected it not to be too flash. The furniture and decor is tired and old and the air conditioning is poor (not split system -centrally controlled and even on high is not very powerful) however when we complained as we had a hot baby, they provided a fan for the room which helped. Buffet breakfast and wifi was free, although the wifi required you to log back in frequently. The buffet was basic but tasty - toast, eggs, bacon, sausages, pastries, cereal, yoghurt, filter coffee etc. The room service menu was definitely basic with no vegetarian options (apart from one green salad) and so the hotel staff provided us with a pizza/pasta menu that was delivered and charged to our hotel bill - average pizza but at least it was another option as we were in the room a lot at night due to having a small baby with us. Overall a pretty basic hotel, however I found the rooms clean, the staff helpful and if you get a good deal on your room, worth staying there. Noise was not a problem for us and the location was good - close to metro and a little out of the centre of town so quieter.
