“Functionally, very nearly perfect.”

But, maybe not if you want to sleep at night.

This apparthotel has a lot to offer, especially for families. Each room is spacious (35m²), and has a kitchenette. The location is about 2 minutes walk from the Rocafort metro stop on line 1. There are 2 supermarkets almost next door, and numerous cafés and restarants, delicatessens, and what have you in the immediate neighbourhood.

Apart from the Line 1 metro, there are 4 TMB (barcelona metro area transports) buses. It's possible to walk to Plaça d'Espanya and even Barcelona Sants Railway station is walkable (10<>15 mins)(We're arrived by train from France).

The staff are very helpful, and speak at least English and French, as well as Spanish (Don't forget that barcelona is catalunya, and Catalan is the language, it's kind of mix of spanish and french, pretty easy to understand when read, in any case, if you know French and/or Spanish)

The breakfast buffet was ordinary, and during our stay during school holiday period, was packed with screaming kids. we decided to have breakfast in the room because of the noise and because of the poor quality of the breakfast. We weren't charged for the 1 morning we had breakfast, maybe itwas included in the rate. If it is/was then it's acceptable, but not for the 8€ per person suplement advertised.

Really, the only really bad point about the hotels were the thin walls, and hearing even quiet conversations from the neighbouring room very clearly. I had to phone reception one night because I couldn't sleep. If you want to sleeep, then you take a risk, because it depends on how you sleep through noise and how noisy, or not, your neghbours are. I don't like to exagerrate, but seriously, the neighbours didn't have to be rowdy to be able to hear them, the walls are very thin!

If they fixed the noise problem, then this hotel would be worth 5 points.

“Nice hotel well connected quite cheap”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

Please ask for a room on a last stage - from balcon You will get brilliant view on the old Barcelona. There is small table so as 2 chairs outside - ideal for speding evening with glass of wine looking on city at night. The appartment its ok, with quite big main room and small kitchen. Brakefast - its a mix of continental and typical spanish one. For that amount of money its ok.
Its not 4 stars hotel, but for a short stay 3-4 nights its ok. Advantage not far away from city center.
Hotel is gread connected just 2 minutes form metro station and around 20-25 minutes nice wallk into La Rambla.

“Great value and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

We have just got back from Barcelona after spending 4 nights at this hotel. Very impressed by the size of the studio and how well equipped it was. It is about 20 -30 minutes walk from the Ramblas and only 20 minutes from the Sans railway station. We found it easier to walk it than take 2 metro trains. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful especially the lady in the dining room.
Free internet and printing was a nice bonus. We didn't find it noisy at all as somebody suggested.
Breakfast was very nice but started to get a bit boring seeing exactly the same everyday. They could do with varying it a bit.
I would definitely recommend it and stay there again next time I am in Barcelona.

Room Tip: We were in a room at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet.

“Great central Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

Unlike most central city hotels the rooms are very spacious. We went with 2 children and had a quad room which consisted of a small kitchen with microwave, sink and fridge, a huge bathroom with bath and shower and 2 bedrooms. There is a flat screen TV in the main room which is ideal for helping the kids drop off at night!
Our room came with a large balcony which gave us fantastic views of Barcalona.
The reception staff were extremely helpful and all spoke English fluently. You get free Wi-fi at the hotel and PC's available for free internet access.
The breakfast was a buffy consisting of continental and bacon and eggs. I could not fault the food at all and again, for a city hotel, there was a wide variety of choice.
I would recommend you purchase Bus Tour tickets from the reception. They give you a slight discount and also provide a book with many discount vouchers for local attractions. The bus tour is hop-on, hop-off and definitely the best way to see all the amazing sights in this city.
The hotel is near the Placa Espana and walking distance from the magic fountains. It is one metro stop from Placa Catalunya where you go for Las Ramblas, so is in a fantastic central location. The metro is cheap and clean and puts our Underground to shame, I had not qualms about using it even late at night.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We would like to thank you so much for your opinion.

We think that internet connection is very important nowdays, for this reason we provide free Wi-fi connection and a free internet computer corner for our guest.

As you inform Rocafort metro station (red line - L1) is located two blocks from the Aparthotel and provides you all over Barcelona move quickly and economically.

About the breakfast we offer a buffet with more than 30 different products (pasta, fruit, cereals, ham, cheese, juices, coffee, tea,...). We always try serve the products most requested by our customers, and we offer an extensive variety of local products.

Will be a pleasure to accomodate you and your family if you back to visit Barcelona.

“Good value and not bad location - but noisy...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

We booked this on the strength of TripAdvisor reviews and because it seemed less of a rip-off than most other Barcelona hotels. We found that it's good for families (like us - with a 2yr old) the fact it had capacity for 4 people, also that it had a kitchenette (even if you don't cook it's useful to have a fridge for baby milk etc). The rooms was a bit dated if you were being picky but fit for purpose. Bathroom had a good powerful shower and was clean. Location, while you can't pretend it's really central, was not bad especially in relation to Place de Espanya (Magic Fountain etc) and Sants station which was where we arrived and departed the city. For La Rambla, Placa de Catalunya etc we took the metro a few stops - same for Sagrada Familia although that is a bit out of the centre anyway so you'll always have to take the metro.
Area around hotel is fine, not touristy which is good, we ate tapas round the corner which was perfectly nice. Supermarket next door is very useful. Breakfast plentiful and tasty. There is a little play corner in the lounge for young kids (has puzzles, books, building blocks etc) which is a nice touch. Reception staff speak English and were nice enough though we didn't have to test them by complaining or anything!
So the main bad point about the hotel/apartments was the noise - not from outside, as it's a quiet area a little off the beaten track - but from other rooms. We were woken early in the morning by neighbouring rooms singing, talking etc, and people above us walking up and down. I guess you often get this in hotels but it was annoying as you sometimes want to be lazy on holiday and not get up at work time! That was the only thing which would make us think twice about booking again... that and the fact that you can't lock the room door from the inside and the lock generally seemed flimsy. I think if you had a mind to, you could probably get into the rooms without too much difficulty. Though maybe I'm being paranoid. Just found it weird there was no bolt or similar on the inside.
