“christmas break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

used this hotel for 'overspill' of a family christmas break, therefore only used hotel for breakfast(as part of package) , siesta for a couple of hours and for night sleeping.Very handy for 2 metro stations, tram stop and buses; could also catch 'El Prat' airport bus outside the hotel. Little supermarket for essentials, 2 bread shops, 3 cafes etc all within 2 minutes. In the foyer/reception area there is ice machine, snack and drinks machine. The staff were friendly and helpful. For first 4 nights very quiet. Hotel is being refurbished so there was some hammering which started at 08.30 on the last 3 mornings of our stay (people have to work!) One night, we returned quite late because of babysitting grandchildren and the whole of reception area was being painted. Next morning it was back to its purpose without any remains of the painters except for a fresh look! On final night there was partying in the next room but when we went to reception they dealt with it immediately. Anything extra we asked for, eg pillows, was provided within 5 minutes. Breakfast provided more food then we needed and the waitress worked efficiently in a courteous way. Cleaniness was excellent with cloths changed after every person breakfasting. Room was quite adequate for what we needed. Always lots of hot water at all times with good pressure. Tioletries and towels provided everyday. I even think that bed linen was changed every day or the beds were made so well that it seemed they were! All in all an acceptable stay and very close to our family's apartment, so , if we need to , we would certainly use again.

Room Tip: we had an inner room which was darker and an extractor fan could be heard at times. Looked at a room...

“city break at less than city price!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

Stayed with friends at this hotel for the second time. The hotel serves its purpose for a city break at a good price, The hotel is outside the hussle and bussle and prices of the tourist parts of Barcelona ,but it is within easy walking distance of the metro, buses and the tourist bus. It is with 10 min walk of tjhe Sagrada familia and at this point you can get easy tourist bus tickets and information for other tourist attractions.
The hotel rooms are suitable for a short stay and as we were out sightseeing most of the time it seems silly to pay for a more luxurious hotel. It was clean and reasonably furnished, with a safety deposit box included in the price, tolietries and clean towels were left every day.
The buffet breakfast is 10.80 euros and is adequate, although afetr the first morning we found local tapas bars/cafes open where you could get a baguette, croissant and tea/ coffee for a lot less. The only draw back as there are not tea/coffee facilities in the room, you have to walk to find one on a empty stomach.Don't be put off by the shut up bars and shops as they work to siesta times and you have to eat and drink in alot of the places accordingly.
Every room has flat screen T.V but only BBC new in english. The only other facility in the hotel is a seating area in the foyer, but you can leave your luggage locked in a room after your 12 noon check out.
On the whole this hotel served its purpose and there was easy access to and from the airport and all other Barcelona attractions.

Room Tip: Request a room on a higher floor- not basement as there is little natural light

“Average hotel, A bit old, tiny bathroom. The location is good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2011

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights starting August 16, 2011.

The location is good, it is actually not very far from the commercial centre. you can either walk, or take a bus. I have tried both. I will take a bus if i have bought something, but walk if I'm empty hands.

And the commercial centre is actually close to all main sight.

i have got a single room. The hotel is old. The interior of the room is like some 80's/early 90's style. Dark lighting.

Tiny bathroom...

Great wireless access. The best that i have in Spain.

Hmm, pretty much that it. The hotel is alright, average, but i will not go back again.

Not the best deal in town. Rooms badly need refurbishment and its location is not great, ad far from the center (1/2 hour walk). When I went thewre, it wasn't cheap either. There are better deals in town.

“Poor hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2011

Booked a non basement room, got a basement room, very sparsely furnished, no drawer space at all. The main light switch was firmly against the bed and turned on and off as you turned over in the bed.
There were only two very flat pillows so we requested some more,. The night Porter said there were no spares, so we had to roll up a dirty blanket that was in the wardrobe.
The safe didn't work and they tried different cards without success, said they would get an engineer to sort it out and didn't.
There was no plug in the sink and the bath wouldn't fill without the shower coming on, and the grouting around the bath was old and gungy.
We wanted a drink when coming home from the football at half past twelve but the bar was closed and the Night Porter wouldn't open it. We decided to have a beer from the Mini bar ( very aptly named ) but no beer in it !
The breakfast was e10.40 and was acceptable.
This was only a three star hotel, but franklythis was the worse I have stayed in.
