Ramblas Hotel (No 33 on La Ramblas and not to be confused with any other Ramblas Hotels on the same street). This was a very tired hotel and whilst 3* I felt a little cheated. Having not stayed in many (actually any!) 3* hotels before maybe I'm not entirely qualified to rate subjectively so here is a quick summary: Room, very basic and no comforts such as tea making facilities, furniture basic and chipped/tatty and only regarded as a place to lay your head. (we were a family of 4, kids aged 7&8 would not want my kids to stay too long in here) Breakfast: better than expected, full english and plenty of it along with usual continental choices, Location: 10/10, right on the Ramblas but I suspect a little noisy if your room is at the front especially at night time when the clubs and groups of party-goers fire up. We were at the back on 8th floor so not too bad with view of Olympic village and Castle Montejuice - once you got past the ventilation shafts, pipes and all that goes with that. Staff: some ok, most needed a personality transplant, very cold and would look right through you if they could though restaurant staff were pleasant. On the whole, an ok base but that's it.
