The Hotel Regencia Colon is NOT the same hotel as the Hotel colon. THey ARE both right on the plaza with the cathedral though. Thie Regencia is right behins the Hotel Colon but it is much cheaper. This is because the room s are smaller and there are nor great views from your room windows...but who comes to Barcelona to stay in their room?
My wife and I were here for a week at christmas and it was a GREAT!! value for the location We would definitley stay here again. The beds are traditionally european so they are two single beds pushed together and tend to be a little stiffer than in the States.

We've been to this hotel now and several occasions. In the heart of it all but just off the main busy streets for some quiet time at night. Rooms are clean and very comfortable for what time you spend in them. Staff helpful and accomodating when asked. Recommended to others who have not been disappointed

Everything about HRC was perfection! My husband and I spent the first 5 days/4 nights of our honeymoon in Barcelona. We were both pleased with our hotel. The room was spacious and it was serviced daily. The best part of this hotel is the location! It's close enough to everything without being right in the mix. The area is very safe, not sketchy at all and not in place full of tourists like right in Las Ramblas. We were less than a 10 minute walk to Las Ramblas, less than 30 minute walk to the Picasso museum. There are lots of cafes very close by and a delicious taparia down the street. Also, there was a US bank ATM near by which made things very convenient for us. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Another detail we loved; before you leave for the day you drop your room key at the front desk then pick it up when you return. This is nice so you don't have to worry about losing it while you're wondering around the beautiful city.

When/if we go back to Barcelona, we'll definitely be staying at Hotel Regencia Colon!

We stayed here for two days, and were very satisfied. The hotel clerk recommended
Room 261, which has a huge outdoor patio. As far as we could tell, this is the only room with any kind of outdoor area. The location is very good; walking distance to most tourist areas.
We previously had stayed at the Hotel Colon right on the plaza. This hotel was less expensive, and the cathedral was under restoration anyways.
