I booked this hotel again, i was taking a cruise and needed one night in Barcelona. I was again just as satisfied with the location/service/value of this property. Just can't say enough about the location
You are in the best neighborhood to be in and you can walk everywhere you need to be.
Service, rooms, everything is great and the price is excellent for Barcelona!

“just good”

It was a good hotel comparing to what you get in Europe. The biggest advantage was that it is quite close to ramblan which is central point for tourists. The food and beverages are quite affordable in terms of quality and prices. The bar in ground floor gives you a very good view of the street outside which is a luxury in Europe.

Room Tip: take room facing road

“Great Location”

I travelled here with my boyfriend last year. The location was great really, away from all the hype and buzz of les Ramblas, but close enough that we could pretty much walk anywhere we wanted. We got on of the bus tours- the name escapes me, which was fantastic. We got on it a few minute walk away from the hotel. We went to Guelle Park on the tour which was brilliant and also went to the Nou Camp Stadium- amazing!!!We did have to queue for a while though so be prepared for that, and make sure to bring lots of water on the bus AND DRINK IT!.... I made the msitake of not drinking enough water and suffered majorly the next day after going out for a few drinks that night- not a good idea. We also got the train to waht we though was Stiges, but we actually got on the wrong train- the inspector was not impressed, but we didn't know. We ended up going to a different beach near Garraf which was lovely.

On the food front, we went to the Hard Rock Cafe, good food and good service. We also found some smaller places on the other days which were also very nice. We went to see the European Athletics Chamionships which were great.

We also took a lift across the city and up towards the stadium where the athletics were held- I wouldn't advice it if you're scared of heights. I'm not afraid but felt very shaky on this!!

Very hot temperatures there when we were there, but definately a place I would go back to!Brilliant.

The rooms in the hotels were great- air conditioning, black out blinds. The view wasn't great but we were barely there! The reception staff were always very helpful and we were able to leave ourr bags the final day as we weren't leaving until later that day. I would definately reccommend this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere as a base to explore the city!Very safe to walk to at night also :) Hope this is helpful!

Room Tip: Maybe don't get one that overlooks the street as cars seem to be going all night, but be prepare...

“Very positive experience”

Stayed 2 nights and was part of a group of 8 people, extremely kind and accomodating reception staff allocated rooms close to each other giving us the peace of mind of not having loud people around. Bedrooms were on 4th floor and mine was facing main road and yes, it is noisy and loud facing that side so if you can ask to be moved away from it; I had earplugs with me so it was ok. The rooms are big and spacious and beds are very comfortable, I just think they should upgrade the pillows! The one thing I did not like was the bathtub which had a very small glass screen and having a shower meant water was going all over the bathroom floor but loved the fact bathrooms have a bidet!
Breakfast is really good, a lot of selection of fresh sweet pastries/bread and savoury; the little Nespresso coffee machine makes an amazing coffee/cappuccino and it's there for guests to use during breakfast time (7-11am).
We also had lunch at the Hotel restaurant "Da Luca" and the food, real authentic italian, was absolutely amazing, I had the Ossobuco and it was to die for.
Location of Alexandra Hotel really is perfect and safe, 2 minutes walking and you find yourself on Passeig de Gracia which is a really nice road full of great shops and fantastic to stroll on day or evening time. I would go back in a hearbeat

Room Tip: Ask for rooms away of main road (Calle Mallorca)
