When I arrived with 4 colleagues the front desk could not find my reservation, which was made through Ebookers. We stood for ages waiting for them to sort it out. Eventually one person checked us in, one at a time, very slowly, while another member of staff stood around doing nothing while the queue built up behind us.

The room itself was OK, nothing special. Very hot at night. Breakfast was pretty awful. No free wifi. Would not stay again.

We stayed at the Hussa L'Illa in May 2010. We initially booked at the Hussa Internacional to have a room close to Las Ramblas but due to unfortunate circumstances (i.e.: guests being too drunk to leave the hotel...) we were upgraded to Hussa L'illa at no charges (Internacional is 1 star, L'Illa is 4 stars....).

Although Hussa L'Illa is located in a place more convenient for locals or business people rather than tourist, it is still located in a great neighborhood, especially if you like shopping. It is located at 5-10 minutes walk from the Maria Cristina or the Entenca metro stations.

The hotel rooms are very large for European hotel rooms (usually, hotel rooms are larger in North America than Europe, but not for this hotel!). We had a twin room & it had also a couch & a desk. Everything was really clean.

The staff either at both Hussa's hotel we went (Internacional & L'illa) were extremely helpfull.

Good location and in the same block as the L'Illa shopping mall. However the rooms and the service fails to impress. The breakfast is very ordinary and rooms are average. Facilities are not like other 4 start properties
