The location is incredible, a two minute walk from Plaza Cataluyna where you can catch a bus to/from the airport every ten minutes or so and the metro. The hotel is on a lovely pedestrian street with great people watching from the balconies without too much noise. The hotel is perfectly situated for seeing all of Barcelona. If you prefer the metro it is just minutes away as I mentioned, but if you are a walker like me Catedral, Roman Walls, Palu Guell, La Pedrera, Picasso Museum, Parc de la Ciutadella, etc are all within walking distance. I took the metro to Mont Juic, but had a great walk back to the hotel from the Castell.
The rooms are clean and nice, balconies are terrific. Computers available in the lobby and great WiFi. The hotel staff's helpfulness depends on who you get, there is a blonde woman who works during the day, who is incredible, so nice and helpful (wish I remembered her name), but some of the others can be hit or miss. My only real complaint are the pool hours. I had booked this hotel partly for location but the pool is what really made me choose it. After arriving I discovered the hours are 10am - 8pm. So if you are having a full day, there is no way you will get there. It would be great for the pool to be open at 8am - 10pm so you could take a dip before heading out for the day or possibly at the end of the day.
The hotel was a great location for shopping and if you want to be near LasRamblas and Placa Catalunya. They did not have the Spa amenities in this hotel location but let us go to the LasRamblas Catalonia location a few blocks away to use the spa. The pool is small but if you want water...go to the beach!
I have stayed at this hotel twice, once before the remodel and once afterwards. Just a block east of Las Ramblas (and on a pedestrian only with exception of taxis picking up), so it is is convenient yet quiet. Front desk is helpful, lobby is lovely, rooms very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is wonderful but very expensive. This hotel is just a short taxi ride away from Barcelona Cruise terminal.
This hotel is an excellent option for enjoying the city of Barcelona! It is wonderfully located just two blocks off of the central Plaza de Catalunya, yet the rooms were extremely quiet. The street is pedestrian only and has a plethora of opportunities to shop, eat, or just people watch. The rooms were very comfortable, and the staff was gracious and accommodating! I would like to give particular kudos to the Cuban-born bartender, Camilo. What a lovely and welcoming man! After three days, I felt like I was leaving a friend! I will definitely stay here again if and when I return to Barcelona!
This hotel has such a great location.
The decor of the hotel is lovely.
Renovations were ongoing upstairs when my husband and I stayed. The room we were in was basic. The main and only complaint I have is the lumpy and uncomfortable bed.
