Finding this hotel was easy. Just get off the underground at Tarragona, and its about 2 blocks away. The reception and my room was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was buffet style and excellent. The only drawback with this modern hotel was the noise. The traffic noise was consderable even with the windows closed and the walls paper thin. However, I suspect that traffic noise would be an issue wherever you stayed in Barcelona.
Opposite the hotel are several restaurants. I tried the Italian for an evening meal, and it was very good and a reasonable price.

Although this hotel is situated very close to the main train station and metro, I have stayed in far better hotels. The staff were very friendly and the buffet breakfast was great but I did NOT have a good night sleep! The walls are paper thin and I heard lots of late night activity......

A good locaton for easy commuting, but not for a good night sleep!

My husband and I stayed here on the second leg of our honeymoon. We spent the first leg in Paris, with a similar hotel budget. Based on our Paris hotel budget and what we got, I'd argue that you get a great deal with Expo Hotel and its amenities. The hotel is situated in a quiet neighborhood that is within a 15-20 minute subway ride to the majority of attractions in Barcelona. (Bonus- the hotel is directly across from a metro station) In addition, the restaurant offers a decent meal, although I'd highly advise eating elsewhere for your money's worth.
The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable- added to its safe surroundings and I'd say this hotel has more than enough of what you need while in Barcelona. We were able to do all that we wanted to do in our trips time despite not being on Las Ramblas, and the hotels we saw on/near Las Ramblas for the same price were nowhere near the same quality or aesthetics. I'm a huge proponent for staying off the beaten path in a new city, and was very happy we chose Expo Hotel as it left us both with an overall favorable experience in Barcelona.

Location for this hotel is the key, as 3 mins walk away from train station.
Land in airport, take taxi or train and your in hotel in 20 mins.
Touristical bus stop near by, metro station with direct to Ramblas, short walk to place de espana, direct line to football stadium, this has been my home for a long time in barcelona.

To small pool on the roof but a nice bar with amaising view on the city.
