The hotel was great, there was nothing I did not like about this hotel!

The location is perfect! Just off busy La Rambla, around the corner from a great food market, close to many many shops and just a walk away from the beach.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. At the time of arrival the Spanish receptionist was speaking French with the customers and then with us he started speaking very good English.

The rooms were nice and clean. I would not say they were small, maybe their size varies. The only thing is that we had a corner room and the wifi connection was poor, but we could get it sometimes.

Some reviews said that the location is not safe. But it is not the location of the hotel, it is Barcelona. I heard that you need to be very careful everywhere so we were and thankfully everything was fine. Just don't leave your things unattended and don't start opening your wallet in the middle of the street.

I stayed here with my parents for 4 nights - it was very clean & the staff was super nice.

But it was kinda one of those hotels where everything was a little bit broken or off.

Examples:
-The bed looked super clean and comfortable but was rock hard with cheap thin pillows.
-The toilet flusher thing on the wall looked really cool and modern, but mine was broken and fell off the wall. hahaa!
-The WiFi internet works for like 20minutes or something and then you have to log back in with the code. Which stopped working for my iPhone by the second day. super annoying.
-They give you an umbrella if it is raining - but you need to leave a $10 deposit.

But it is located in a great place. I didn't feel like it was scary or like I would get robbed - like some of the other reviews said. But I live in NYC and am aware of stuff like that.
The Market is right in the alley & you are right near the Metro.

I liked the hotel cause it was clean and in a good area. My parents didn't love that there was no comfortable lobby to read & drink coffee in.

Good hotel, a great choice for the money.

Booked 5 nights here and recently returned... For the money you cannot top this place. The rooms are commodious (again, for the money) and included a mini fridge. The only faults I would cite are that the room was hot and we couldn't open the window b/c of the street noise (which is 100% blocked out when the windows are closed) and the matresses a bit on the hard side. The staff was friendly and I felt very secure as they had a guard on duty after 11 pm in addition to the front desk buzzing you in, etc. I never ever felt that security was an issue. The location, as others have cited, is ideal and right around the corner from the Boqueria which made access to quality, inexpensive snacks (fruits and the like) easy. The metro system in BCN is also very modern and efficient and puts NY's to shame (which most do... sadly). I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for an economical hotel without sacrificing on space, cleanliness, and location.

We stayed here for 5 nights in June. While the location is very very good, and is minutes from everything, and the rooms are great, clean, modern etc... the service is poor. This was a major let down, but something tells me this could be a cultural thing as i did not find the people in Barcelona to be that friendly, compared to other cultures I have experienced.

The front desk people never smile. When asked questions or advice its like they can not be bothered helping. Just seemed like they did not want to be there working. I think management should have better standards and lift their game, after all this is a service industry! One time I came out of the lift, said good morning, and the guy at the desk nodded his head at me - pretty poor form.
