Really couldn't fault this hotel. We had a room on the 4th floor with a roof terrace with great views. The rooms were spotlessly clean, bed comfortable and the bathroom had a bath, shower and hairdrier (always a bonus).

The breakfast was good, not great, but perfectly adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful and booked tickets over the phone for the tablao de carmen flamenco show and ordered our airport taxis for us.

The location is fantastic. Just a few minutes walk in one direction to the seafront and the restaurants of Barceloneta or a lovely 10 minute walk to the bottom of Las Ramblas. The public transport was very good and stopped close to the hotel. I would definately recommend the tourist bus which you can hop on and hop off at all the different attractions. It certainly made seeing all the sights much easier.

I would definately stay at this hotel again.

Location near Port Vell & 5 minutes stroll to La Rambla = great; shower = really strong. Unfortunately these are the only 2 positives I have about this hotel. Had to move from 1st room we were given as it faced onto street and has curious stains on the wall - looked like blood :-(
Ended up in a quiet room, but discovered semen stains on the blanket on my bed - obviously cleaning service isn't great. Rather than move again, I left it for the cleaners.
Most of the reception staff were friendly but some were apathetic & unfriendly.
Barcelona is a beautiful place and hope to go back again - not to this hotel though. As my friend said to me: you get what you pay for!

the location really can't be beat in my opinion, since it is very near a metro stop and yet not in a congested area. we were able to walk just about everywhere we wanted to visit and for those more remote tourist sites, we took the metro. it is also a short taxi ride to the port, which made it easy to embark on our cruise. the room was clean and had a nice little balcony. there is a 2 euro fee per day for the in-room safe, which we used. the front desk staff were somewhat helpful, depending upon which person was on duty. i'd suggest booking with rumbo, a spanish booking website for the best deal.

Positives:

- Rooms are good and clean. I'd recommend requesting a room on the 4th floor which have large balconines.
- Breakfast was OK - its not your full english but does the job to get you sorted for the day
- Great location - 2 min walk to the marina, 5 mins walk from the bottoms of the Ramlas, underground station within 2 mins walk. Supermarket near the hotel when the bottle of wine is needed for the hotel room
- Very helpful staff - they even gave me a corkscrew and a wine bucket fill of ice - for that bottle of wine
- Great shower
- Rooms are quiet - well ours was

Negatives:
- Don't excpect a 4* hotel if you not going to pay for one.
- no bar
- no bath
