We moved to Hotel Next To on our second night in Barcelona because we were only able to get one night's booking at Hotel Actual. Hotel Next To is actually next to Hotel Actual. LOL :)
I liked Hotel Actual better than Hotel Next To for the following reasons:
1. Hotel Actual's interior design is more elegant even if both are modern. I am not a big fan of the color green used in our room bathroom. Other than the atrocious green color, the bathroom serves its purpose.
2. Hotel Next To has a very small lobby. There was only a tiny couch that could seat 3 people at the most. Hotel Actual's lobby was also quite small but it was stylish and inviting and could seat more people.
3. Hotel Actual's lobby restroom was dirty and seemed like it wasn't regularly cleaned.
4. There was no closet in our Hotel Next To room. There was a very short rod next to the bed from which you can hang you clothes.
5. Be careful not to put your things next to the room walls unless you don't mind your things turning white. The white paint seems to rub off.
6. Don't bother paying extra for the buffet breakfast at Hotel Next To. It is not worth your money! It was the worst hotel breakfast we had out of all the hotels we stayed at during our 3 week European holiday. Food was not satisfying at all and the selection was very limited, unappetizing and unsavory.
The nice thing about Hotel Next To is that its rooms are more spacious compared to Hotel Actual. There was even 2 daybeds across each other in our room next to the window which could sleep 2 more people. There is more space to move around and we didn't feel cramped.
I guess I would've liked Hotel Next To more if I had never stayed at Hotel Actual but since I have a basis of comparison, Hotel Actual outshone Hotel Next To.

We're just back home after a nice three night stay at the Next To hotel in Barcelona. The hotel is very nicely located near Passeig de Gracia and it's an easy 20 minute walk from Plaza de Catalunya. If you don't fancy walking, metro station Diagonal is just around the corner.

At first we walked right past the hotel, as the outdoorsigning is quite small. However, it across the famous Omm design hotel. The receptionist was friendly and gave us room 15, on the first floor. Surprise, the room was quite large, with two lounge beds next to the twin beds. The room also had a small outdoor terrace, facing the back of the famous Casa Mila. The bathroom was also sufficient, with a shower and toilet. In the room was also a minibar, with each product priced one euro. Next to the minibar, a vending machine with soft drinks and a coffee machine is provided on the first floor. Products also cost 1 euro, which are very good prices for a hotel.The bed was firm and to our liking.

The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, but you can eat at the restaurant next door. Breakfast costs 6 euro p.p. However, as the city is just around the corner, we decided to eat in the city.

All in all, our stay was very enjoyable, thanks to the warm weather and this nice little hotel. We can really recommend it!

We stayed here during the Festival de Merce. The location was wonderful. The accommodations were just what we wanted, bed was great, balcony view was awesome. Felt very safe in the hotel and neighborhood. Caught the Hop on Hop off bus right around the corner, ATM just steps away, restaurant on the bottom floor of hotel was very nice.

Nice location right by the Diagonal metro and Catalunya road which goes straight into Ramblas. It's a ways away from Ramblas and the Gothic area but the walk down the promenade is priceless or take a quick metro ride. Very clean, efficient with early check-ins. Room was like an apartment with a fridge, cabinets with silverware, plates, and cups. 2 flatscreens, an additional futon-like bed in the other additional room and a nicely decorated bathroom. Also, great little balcony overlooking the busy street below. AC is a little sluggish but works. The WiFi zips along and bed is decent. There's a little restaurant next door that seems like it's part of the hotel. We went for the breakfast-continental buffet for 6 euro and we were not thrilled. Plenty of better cafes on the road. Stay here if going to Barcelona. You'll enjoy it.
