This 12-floor hostel building was built in 2008 and all things there are wisely set for travelers' comfort. Every bed has it's own american and euopeans plug-in as well as a personal bed light. Each room has privat bathroom. I stayed in 8-bed female dorm and the bthroom included 2 shower cabins, a sink and a toilet all separated. Everything are very small, but still can accomodate 2 people at the same time if needed. There was a hairdryer as well! Shower cabin doors don't close tightly, though, so the floor gets wet fast and the bathroom gets a bit messy (rooms are cleaned daily). But I don't think it'll be a real problem for anyone. Other thing which bothered me that they don't have any place to put one's luggage (lockers are not big enought) so everyone keeps their things on the floor.
They have a really nice common area (on the 3d floor) with a terrace with a view on Agbar tower. Even during a winter it was nice to have it - Agbar tower is just beautful at night. They have a wide range of food and drinks to offer for a decent price (wide enought for a hostel). On the other hand, 6 computers were always occupied (except at 8 am) and in the evenings I have to wait for 30 min to get one. Recetion is very small for 12-floor building, it was a line there usually. Staff is quite OK. I wouldn't call them "frendly", but polite for sure, good enougth for Spain!
As mentioned in some previous reviews this hostel is a bit far from La Rambla. but it's close to a metro, so 10-15 min that's what you need to get there (get an unlimited metro pass!;)). The only problem is going out at night and especially.. coming back after a club. The only option here is a taxi. There are night buses, but they stop fairly far from the hostel and the walking area isn't nice. So if you plan to go out you might consider places closer to La Rambla and beach.
