“Perfect for Business/Vacation or a Weekend Break”

I initially stayed here for work during the off peak season, very central location in the Gothic area of Barcelona - plenty of activity in the surrounding streets and only a stones throw from the beach. Fine and reasonable restaurants on the street, where I even got to know some of the owners! The hotel reception staff are very friendly and helpful and they got to know me quite well, so much so that they gave me my favourite room every time I came back!!! - without asking - Now that's Customer Service. Rooms vary slightly, you can get one with no view looking on to the surrounding walls, one on the front street with balcony you can stand out on and ones that look onto the back terrace and pool - all of them were fine for me! Some rooms have bath and shower and others have just shower (big double) - you should request at booking what your preference may be. Beds comfortable, rooms very clean and tidy, mini bar, wifi. Prices vary with the season and that is understandable because of the loation. Breakfast is standard "European" and priced at 10 euro - I only took some mornings as I worked near by. I have stayed at this hotel on and off for over 4 months and two week blocks and would be more than happy to go back.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter.

“Very nice”

I stayed here in January with my 14-year old daughter and we loved it. We had a room in the front, from which we could see the port. Because of the double windows, you don't hear any noise from the street.
We loved the way the room was decorated, the beds were large and comfortable and all amenities were good: flatscreen TV (mostly spanish channels and cnn-stuff, though), large bathroom with good rainshower. The guys at the reception were really nice (one of them, Jan, is Dutch, which is of course especially nice for Dutch guests such as ourselves).
The location is absolutely great. Right by the harbour, and all the nice neighbourhoods such as La Rambla, El Born, Barceloneta, Mare Magnum and the Gothic Quarter can all be reached within a few minutes walk. There are many nice tapas bars in the direct neighborhood of the hotel.
We didn't take breakfast in the hotel. However, I attempted to have diner there in the hotel restaurant, but wouldn't recommend it. The waiters seem slow and incompetent and don't speak English and I didn't like the food.
The only thing that could be better was that the walls between rooms are not soundproof. We could hear everything in the room next door. One night, our neighbors were watching a soccer match (with all the necessary cheering and hollering) until after midnight, but luckily it stopped immediately after we called the reception about this. The other nights were completely quiet. One other minor thing is that the temperature of the central heating could not be regulated from our room so we had to use the aircon, which is of course not very ecologic.

We heartily recommend this place and would certainly come back if we ever visit Barcelona again.

“Good location, excellent staff”

Situated near to front of port area. Very close to Las Ramblas, Gothic area and metro. Room had everything that you need but wasn't special. Very clean. Helpfull reception staff. Do not miss either of the Cathedrals or eating in the marketplace situated on the lefthand side of Las Ramles when walking away from the Port. I would go back to both the hotel and Barcelona four days was not long enough

Room Tip: I asked for a balcony with a view of the Port. I found there was a building in the way and therefore...

“Nice, contemporary accomodation”

A nice hotel with the politest receptionist i know (Angel) warmly welcoming you at the hotel with a smile and humour!

Rooms were nice, clean, spacious, soundproofed, modern (as of recently refurbished), equipped with all the necessaries such as LCD TV, Air-con, safe, minibar, wardrobes, toiletries etc..
The bed and pillows were great, very comfortable, had a nice sleep!
Bathroom also nice with a fancy glass door and tv/radio speakers installed in walls....

The swimming pool area was nice and cosy but swimming pool too small such as mini-pool.

Hotel is situated just outside of La Rambla Square an area full of retail stores, restaurants etc....

I would recommend this hotel to people who want stay in the heart of the centre and don't mind the busy streets and noise etc....If u want a quiet area try something else...

“Clean, comfortable and great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

Fantastic Hotel in a fantastic location. Right next to La Rambla (3 min walk max) and within walking distance to most city centre attractions. Hotel is clean and comforable and the receptionists were all extremely helpful. The street it is located on has quite a few restauants and tapas bars which offer a great selection of spainish and catalan cuisine at very affordable prices. Which is more than can be said for the restuarants on the busier thoroughfairs. Which we found way over priced and on the lesser side of average in terms of quality.

Would have no problem recommending this hotel
