This hotel wasn't our first choice, but Valladolid was packed with tourists attending some the SEMINCI ( International Film festival) and a Trade Fair last week. So we booked 7 rooms in this former Meliá Hotel. It's not far from the city tourist centre, it is close to the bus station, to the park... in an area that's not attractive at all, but it still is within walking distance from the main attractions.
The main common areas have been refurbished but the corridors in the upper floors and the rooms need renewing. It seems this hotel hasn't been "touched" for years, since the Meliá company sold it. This said, having expected the worst, we were quite happy to find the rooms were weary but very clean, and very big. In fact we chose the lowest rates rooms at 48 Euros per room per night, which is more than reasonable. So I would say this hotel is a really good option for budget travellers. Of course you're provided with TV, private bathroom, toiletries, air conditioning....
