“Good hotel”

We booked in Palacio San Fecundo after having read reviews in TA.
The hotel is well located in the old town about 5 minutes walk from the Plaza Mayor.
We were given a room which smelled of smoke, although the hotel is a non smoker one, and were promptly upgraded to a better room which was OK but nothing really special.
The staff were very helpful and polite. Breakfast was a buffet type affair and I would rate it as average. It was served in a beautiful covered patio. The general atmosphere was not very exiting because the hotel was almost empty during our stay.
I appreciated the underground parking but found it overpriced at € 18 for a night especially when I saw that other hotels on the plaza Mayor had special permission for their customer to park in front although the plaza is pedestrian.

“Gem of a hotel in a wonderful city”

Great location, fairly easy access (considering the narrow streets and curvy hills) and pleasant staff make this a sure bet for a visit to Segovia. Very contemporary feel with large rooms and good amenities. Nice included breakfast in a sky lighted dining room. Friendly staff and offered a free glass of wine in dining area at night. Superb location with in a small square with valet garage parking (at 18 euro) on site. Modern TV and bathroom with canopy bed with minimal bed covering and pillows. Room was next door to a school and sound of playing children was faintly heard in morning.

“Great hotel, fantastic location, friendly staff”

We have really enjoyed our stay at the San Fecundo. Our room is large, by European standards, clean, and stylish. You can't beat the location, 10-15 mins from the castle and 10 mins from the aqueduct, 5 mins from the cathedral. The staff have been very nice and helpful, and I have never gotten additional towels, ice, or a wine key so quickly in my life!

We paid €130 per nite, which includes bfast, but parking another €18/nite. Still seems like a good value - it's a great little hotel in a fantastic location!!!

“Nice, clean, stylish hotel in excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2010

Our room was modernized with a great bath and a small balcony that we enjoyed each of the two days that we stayed there. It should be noted that the balcony, while it overlooks a cut little square, adjoins the post office which has vehicles coming and gong until 5. The street at the end of the little square is quite busy with buses rumbling by every minute or two. Hey, it´s an urban environment. But at night (after 8?) and into the post-8 a.m. time frame, there was no noise at all. The breakfast is ok, but the breakfast room, which doubles as a cafe later in the day, is classically gorgeous with wonderful light. Due to the typical problem for Americans eating in Spain (the hours), we ate ¨dinner¨ there each night. We had the place to ourselves and felt like we were in a Spanish villa. If you want internet, you can rent their laptop for 6E per hour. We just went down the street to the library which is open long hours and has plentiful computers. Other than the very pleasant fellow there in the morning, don´t expect many smiles or much English from the front desk or the eating area staff. Overall, with the facility and it´s tremendous location accessible to everything so easily, we would easily recommend this hotel.

“Great location – did the job.”

This is a workaday hotel offering a good service at reasonable rates. It is completely central and ideally suited for walking around Segovia. We paid extra to park our car at the hotel and did not touch it for the two days we visited.
Room was uninteresting, uninspiring but not uncomfortable. Ditto bathroom. The restaurant is called the cafeteria and I guess that says it all! Breakfast usual buffet – nothing great. Staff universally delightful – really charming people.
We had a great time however as Segovia is an absolute delight. Photographers will have huge fun here. It has enough history in a compact zone with the aqueduct, cathedral, alcazar and museum plus views all around. Arguably it is possibly best appreciated from a distance as there are some amazing views driving towards it.
It was the weekend so the town was busy. The hotel had recommended Jose Maria for lunch but when we went it was full of a wedding party smoking in the bar at the entrance so did not appeal. We went to Duque which was full of noisy kids and felt more like a canteen than a restaurant. We got a table but could not stand the noise and fracas so we left and walked to the civilised (not empty just grown up) calm of El Bernardino – joy! Roast sucking pig had to be done but brace yourselves it really is a wee baby pig – thankfully we got the leg quarter (between two) as I’m not sure I could have done the head – it was absolutely delicious but as a previous poster says remember to order your side orders as it comes solo.
