My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights as part of a tour of the region. The hotel is set at the junction of the busy one way system. On arrival there was no room for the coach to park directly outside which meant all passengers plus their luggage had to risk life and limb to get across the road - no gaps in the stream of traffic! The day we left the hotel put a barrier across the parking spaces outside so that we could get on safely, so why could they not have done this for arrival?? Small lobby and only one lift so it took a while for our group to get cases up to our rooms.Rooms small and simply furnished but very clean and the beds comfortable. The bathroom was a good size with a bath and power shower over. Our room faced front with a lovely view of the city walls and cathedral and also the continuous stream of traffic so there was a lot of traffic noise. It faced south west so the sun streamed in and it was hot in there in the evening as the air conditioning didn't work too well. some of our group however found their air conditioning too cold, so it must be luck of the draw! We chose to eat dinner in the hotel, the food was tasty and nicely presented although the choice is very small and was the same both days. The Gazpacho soup was delicious. Breakfast buffet was ok but nothing special. The small outside patio area is set in the ruins of the old church and is a delightful place to sit and relax over a drink.
The position of the hotel is excellent for exploring the city as it is so close to the cathedral and only 10 minutes to the centre of town.
This hotel is a good place for 1 or 2 nights but lacks finesse and the staff are very inflexible and not too helpful.
Room Tip: Ask for a room not directly facing the road.
