“Pluses and Minuses”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2010

We stayed here for one night in May 2010. The location is probably the biggest plus, as it is just a few blocks from Plaza Major. We were able to walk leisurely to there, the cathedral and the university. It's not on a main drag but off a few blocks. Another plus is the parking, there is a parking garage UNDER the hotel. Which leads to the minus --the entrance is narrow, steep, and circular!! Upon entering you drive down two levels in a tight circle!! Around and around. Coming up you had better be good at driving a stick shift if you rented one!! My partner did fine, he just took a deep breath and went for it while I waited up-top to be sure door stayed open (it's timed, once reception opens it I think you have twenty minutes) and no pedestrian happened by. Our room was so-so, kinda small, nothing special for sure. The safe didn't work and I had to go to reception three times -- the guy finally had to re-program it or something. The help was lackadaisical. The breakfast was nothing memorable. We could hear students partying down the street until dawn then, like vampires, when the sun came up they were suddenly silent. Overall, not a pleasant stay.

“NOT a 3 star hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 June 2010

Bonus for paid parking in the hotel and it was clean. We had a small room facing a courtyard, but it wasn't quiet and it was quite warm. I went down to the desk staff to ask about the air conditioning and was told it wasn't on (he didn't speak english, I speak limited spanish). From the looks of the temperature control in the room if even if the air had been on in the hotel you couldn't control it in your room) so in order to sleep we had to leave the windows open which face an apartment building with the usual sounds you'd expect but that make sleeping difficult. The piece holding the shower head was broken and clearly the staff knew this, so why not fix it? What a pain. Also we couldn't get the internet to work in our room, but at least there was a PC you could use in the lobby . . . when the staff wasn't on it.

This is a 2 star hotel, and for that it's definitely worth the money, but there's no way anyone should rate it any higher. Just lower your expectations.

“Very Nice hotel for a good budget”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2009

We were at the end of a long 5 week trip trough and we loved this really centrally located hotel. Main city attractions are all at walking distance. For and extra 8 EUR a person, enjoy a continental breakfast that it is usually not common in hotels like this in Spain. Don´t Take some night pictures from the Clavero Tower just across the hotel.

“located next to the landmark tower”

Inexpensive and centrally located little gem with friendly hotel staff who speak some English. Construction going on nearby.

“Great service, just be prepared for noise at night if you have a front room.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2009

This hotel has everything - very friendly and helpful service, large clean rooms and modern bathrooms, elevator, optional breakfast (which wasn't worth the 7 euro), and great location. We really enjoyed our 3 nights at this hotel, however there was construction being done on the sidewalk and street right outside our room so we awoke to jackhammers and chunks of concrete being thrown into wheel barrows. That of course is a temporary noise that no one can anticipate, however there are also 2 bars 1/2 block away and from midnight to 4am every night there were hundreds of drunk kids yelling in the streets. We didn't care too much because half the time we were coming in late ourselves, but just a warning for those who go to sleep early - ask for a room not on the front street.
