having been charmed by the vincci soho Madrid I was very disappointed in this cold, impersonal and characterless hotel. The service was strained, the breakfast buffet abhorrent, the rooms clean but basic to the extreme i.e. one shampoo, shower cap, no bath slippers or bath rope... (in a suite for two!) and the mini bar had hardly any refreshments. Very good beds though. In short, the hotel was functional but not memorable and I would not have chosen it for my visit to the utterly delightful Salamanca.

Beautiful Hotel with all the little luxuries for only 60 Euros per night (not including breakfast). Great staff, excellent breakfast and internet access.

Hotel is typical business chain hotel, 4 star so has all the facilities but none of the charm of smaller hotels. The rooms were spotless and fairly spacious. Staff were perfactly average. Similarly facilities really designed for business, so no free internet but plenty of parking, sweets on the front desk but staff making you wait while they take phone calls etc.

Onto the much discussed location. It's true its a 20 minute walk from centre. This is not really a nice walk - the hotels main neighbour is Lidls supermarket and the location has the feel of being on an industrial estate. The walk then goes along the main road and across the old bridge and up a short steep slope into town.

To conclude you get 4 star hotel on a budget. To get this you sacrifice charm and location. You pays your money and takes your choices.

Even though it is true the hotel is a bit far off, and the neighbourhood is not that good, it is still a good option for visitor to Salamanca, as it is modern but not too expensive (more orientated towards the MICE-business than tourism), and it has a garage, which is important considering most people visit Salamanca by car.

Other, better situated hotels also have parking lots, but due to the exclusiveness of the properties (medieval buildings under cultural heritage-protection, etc) the prices are higher. So, in the end, you can pay a bit less, leave the car in the underground garage, and take a cab to the city-centre, across the bridge over the Tormes river....

I cannot agree with the comments about the staff, as I found them more than helpful. But maybe being Spanish helps a lot in some places. Can't say about breakfast though as I didn't have any.
